• Central Railroad Station (CFM): built in 1916, it is an example of Beaux-Arts architecture and still makes some trips today, such as the Maputo-Pretoria route, and houses an interesting museum with permanent and temporary exhibitions.

Bazaruto Archipelago

Gorongosa National Park

Gorongosa National Park is in the Great Rift Valley region, known as the heart of Mozambique. All its life and exuberance are contemplated by a great natural diversity. The park has savannas, tropical and also mountainous forests, Lake Urema and crystalline waterfalls.

Discovered by tourism in the 1960s, the park unfortunately fell into decay in 1983 due to the civil war that engulfed the country, where poor care and the high incidence of ivory trafficking led to the loss of 90% of the region's wildlife and native plants.

Fortunately, in 2008, the Mozambican government and the Carr Foundation created the “Gorongosa Project” in order to rescue the wild population and the local ecosystem. Today the park has zebras, lions, buffaloes, wildebeests, impalas and other animals that have consequently encouraged safari tourism in the region in a sustainable way.
