Costa Rica: Volcano and Beach
San José, La Fortuna, Santa Teresa
The perfect combination in Costa Rica: nature, relaxation and a dose of adventure for an unforgettable experience!
Day 1: San José
Arrival at San José International Airport, reception by the local representative and private transfer to the hotel. Accommodation for 2 nights, with breakfast.

- In the evening, typical dance performance and dinner at the Mirador Tiquicia Restaurant.
DAY 2: SAN JOSÉ
Breakfast at the hotel and free morning for independent activities.
In the afternoon, private half-day tour, with an English-speaking guide. Visit the city's main tourist attractions, such as the National Theater of Costa Rica and the Pre-Columbian Gold Museum. Rest of the day free.
Day 3: San José - LA FORTUNA
Breakfast. Ground transfer for approximately 130 km to La Fortuna de San Carlos. Accommodation for 2 nights, with breakfast.
If the weather conditions are favorable, it is possible to see the impressive Arenal volcano before even arriving at the hotel, located on the slopes of the volcano. Remaining free time.
Optional activity suggestion (not included):
- Floating night safari. Opportunity to explore wildlife and observe animal species that reside on the banks of the Peñas Blancas Rivers. At the end of the tour, stop at a local family's house to enjoy a typical snack.
Day 4: La Fortuna
Breakfast at the hotel.
In the early hours of the morning it is possible to visit Fortuna Waterfall on your own (not included). Surrounded by abundant vegetation and a wide variety of flora and fauna, the 65-meter waterfall emerges from the dense forest with a natural pool. The waterfall is produced by the Fortuna River and its tributaries located in the region's mountains. The reward for the trail that leads to the beautiful La Fortuna waterfall is its natural refreshing water pool.
Alternatively, you can relax at the hotel until around 14:30 when you meet your guide for a walk through the ancient lava flows on the volcano's slopes. During the route it is possible to observe the varied fauna hidden in the beautiful and picturesque flora.
At the end of the day, time to relax in the Tabacón hot springs, considered a natural expression of the energy inherent to planet Earth and offer many benefits derived from various chemical, physical and biological effects. It includes dinner with a typical non-alcoholic drink (usually fruit juice) at the Tabacón Thermal Resort & Spa's restaurant.
Day 5: La Fortuna - Santa Teresa Early
breakfast and ground transfer for about 125 km to the Port of Puntarenas. Take a ferry to the Nicoya Peninsula and then transfer to the hotel on Santa Teresa Beach. Accommodation for 3 nights, with breakfast.
Remaining free time.
Santa Teresa is an authentic Costa Rican beach city with a unique culture and style. Many define Santa Teresa as a luxury destination, combining ideal surfing conditions, excellent yoga studios and instructors, tasty and prestigious cuisine, as well as lush nature and parks. All in a relaxed atmosphere that represents “Pure Life in Costa Rica”.
The city is also in a “Blue Zone”, places in the world where people live the longest, surpassing the 100-year mark. These regions were identified by scientists and demographers, who found specific characteristics and practices in the places that result in cases of high incidence of longevity.
6th and 7th days: Santa Teresa
Breakfast at the hotel and free days for independent activities.
Day 8: Santa Teresa - San José
Breakfast and ground transfer for about 220 km to San José, the capital of Costa Rica. Accommodation for 1 night, with breakfast.
In the afternoon, free time to explore the city on your own or relax at the hotel.
Day 9: San José
Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to the airport.
