Belgium First Impressions
Bruxelles, Brugge
Belgium is a true European treasure, rich in history and culture and with an identity of freedom and tolerance stretching over centuries.
DAY 1: BRUSSELS
Arrival in Brussels (airport or train station), reception and assistance by the local representative in Portuguese.
Private transfer to the hotel and accommodation for 2 nights, with breakfast.
DAY 2: BRUSSELS
After breakfast at the hotel, private full-day tour with a guide in Portuguese to the main attractions of the historic center.
Visit the Grand Place, where the Gothic building of the Brussels City Hall is located, to the City Museum, where Karl Marx wrote part of his book “The Manifesto” and where Victor Hugo lived. Then, visit the city's symbolic statue, the Manneken Pis, and the Royal Gallery of Saint-Hubert, with its dazzling Art Nouveau corridors.
In the afternoon, visit the Magritte Museum, an institution dedicated to the exhibition of the works and the narrative of the history of the renowned Belgian surrealist artist, René Magritte.
Note: It is not possible to take a guided tour of the museum, according to the institution's policy.
DAY 3: BRUSSELS - Ghent - Bruges
After breakfast and check-out at the hotel, travel to Bruges, including a stop in Ghent along the way.
In Ghent, meet the local Portuguese-speaking guide for a half-day tour of the historic city center. Visit Gravensteen Castle originally built in the 12th century by Count Philip of Alsace.
Then, pass through the Lis River to visit the São Nicolau Church and the City Hall.
Finally, visit the Cathedral of Saint Bavo, which houses one of the city's jewels, the Ghent Altarpiece, one of the greatest works by the Flemish painters Hubert and Jan van Eyck.
Continuation of the trip to Bruges and accommodation for 2 nights, with breakfast.
DAY 4: Bruges
After breakfast at the hotel, private full-day tour with a guide in Portuguese in Bruges.
Visit the OLV-Kerk Museum, also known as the Museum of the Church of Our Lady, a 115-meter-high brick tower that illustrates the skill of the builders of Bruges in the 13th century. Inside, you can find a large amount of artistic treasures, especially the Madonna by Michelangelo, the artist's only sculpture outside Italy.
Then, visit the Groeninge Museum, which houses an impressive collection of Flemish and Belgian paintings, and walk along the Dijver Canal to appreciate the houses on the edge of Rozenhoedkaai.
At the end of the day.tour of the Grote Markt in Bruges, the heart of Bruges, where you can admire the architectural richness of the region and the City Hall built in the 16th century. DAY
5: Bruges - Brussels
After breakfast and check-out, private transfer to Brussels (airport or train station).
