São João nos Lençóis Maranhenses

Day 1 (04/07/2027 - Sunday): SÃO LUÍS
Arrival at São Luís airport, reception and private transfer for the group to the hotel. Accommodation for 1 night, with breakfast.

São Luís, the capital of Maranhão, is located on the Atlantic coast, between the bays of São Marcos and São José de Ribamar. Its historic center, recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, includes colonial mansions, Portuguese tiles and manifestations of Maranhão culture.

In the evening, visit a traditional village in São Luís, with cultural performances of Bumba Meu Boi and other events of São João do Maranhão, as well as stalls with typical regional cuisine. Free time to experience the party.

Return to the hotel.


Day 2 (05/07/2027 - Monday): SÃO LUÍS - SANTO AMARO
Breakfast and check-out at the hotel. In the morning, land transfer to Santo Amaro, covering 238 km (approximately 3h40) on paved road, with a snack stop (not included) in the city of Morros or Icatu.

Arrival in Santo Amaro and accommodation for 2 nights, with breakfast.

In the late afternoon, take a walk to the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park (PNLM), taking advantage of the milder climate to hike to the previously selected lagoons. After sunset, a cold plate with regional products is served on the banks of the lagoons.

Early in the evening, experience contemplating the starry sky, with explanations about the stars, constellations, and other elements visible in the region's sky. During the experience, a cold plate with regional products will be served, while the sky of Lençóis Maranhenses provides favorable conditions for observing galaxies with the naked eye.


3rd day (06/07/2027 - Tuesday): Santo Amaro - Ponta Verde - Santo Amaro

Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, transfer to Povoado Ponta Verde, with part of the route taken over the dunes and continued on a trail amidst native vegetation. Arrival to the village, known for the presence of fruit trees and plants typical of the region.

Then, visit Lagoa do Reflexo, with free time for bathing and photographs. Return to the village for lunch at a local restaurant (not included).

In the afternoon, visit the Ponta Verde circuit lagoons, with other swimming spots. After sunset, return to Santo Amaro, with a brief stop to taste the traditional ice cream from the central square.


4th day (07/07/2027 - Wednesday): Santo Amaro - Barreirinhas - VASSOURAS - Mandacaru - atins
Breakfast and check-out at the hotel. In the morning, land transfer to Porto Caetés, taking approximately 1h30 on paved road.

Then, fly a speedboat across the Preguiças River to the coastal town of Atins, passing along shores surrounded by palm trees and mangroves.

First stop in Vassouras, in the APA dos Pequenos Lençóis, with the possibility of tasting fresh coconut water and observing the capuchin monkeys that inhabit the mangrove next to the freshwater beach. It is not allowed to feed the animals.

Stop for lunch (not included) at Dona Graça's restaurant, known for its grilled fish.

Continue along the river, passing through the villages of Espadarte, Morro do Boi and Moitas, to Mandacaru, where the Lighthouse is located. Then, visit the Bar da Hora village for a coffee break and time to observe the traditional guarás flight. The Guará is a typical mangrove bird, known for its crimson-red plumage, whose color is related to the beta-carotene present in the small crustaceans it feeds on. At the end of the day, the Guarás return as a group to the mangroves to spend the night, forming the flight that marks the sunset in the region.

After sunset, continue by speedboat to Atins and transfer to the hotel. Accommodation for 3 nights, with breakfast. 


5th day (08/07/2027 - Thursday): atins - PONTA DO MANGUE - atins
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, departure in a 4x4 vehicle for a half-day tour of the Ponta do Mangue Lagoons Circuit, with a stop for swimming and photographs in the lagoons selected according to the conditions of the season.

Visit to the Carminha restaurant, in the town of Ponta do Mangue, located on the shores of Lagoa do Mário, with time for lunch (not included) and rest in hammocks.

Return to Atins. Rest of the day free for independent activities.


6th day (09/07/2027 - Friday): atins - CANTO DO ATINS - atins
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, transfer to the Atins Beach Club, located in Atins Beach, with free time to enjoy the beach and the seaside environment. Return to the hotel.

In the afternoon, departure in a 4x4 vehicle for a shared tour of the Canto do Atins Lagoas Circuit, with stops for swimming and photographs in the lagoons selected according to the conditions of the season. At sunset, picnic to contemplate the landscape.

Return to Atins after sunset.


7th day (10/07/2027 - Saturday): ATINS - BARREIRINHAS - SÃO LUÍS
Breakfast at the hotel and check-out. Private transfer for the group to the port of Atins and board a flying speedboat bound for Barreirinhas. Upon arrival, board a vehicle to return to São Luís, covering approximately 260 km in about 4 hours on a paved road.
