Extension to Laos
Luang Prabang
An ideal package for exploring the Unesco historic heritage city that combines French architecture with that of Buddhist temples.
DAY 1: LUANG PRABANG
Arrival in Laos, reception and private transfer to the hotel for accommodation for 2 nights, with breakfast.
In the evening, visit the Luang Prabang night market.
DAY 2: LUANG PRABANG - PAK OU CAVES - LUANG PRABANG
After breakfast, embark on a mini-cruise, by traditional boat, along the Mekong River, allowing a beautiful view of the scenery on the banks of the river: tranquil villages, beautiful landscapes and forests. Stop in the village of Ban Shanghai, where the special production of rice wine is located.
Visit the mysterious Pak Ou caves, two connected caves that house thousands of lacquered gold Buddha statues, of various shapes and sizes, left by pilgrims. After the caves, return to Luang Prabang for lunch (without drinks).
Visit to the National Museum and the old Royal Palace, tourist icons of the city. To end the day, climb Mount Phousi, which offers a panoramic view of Luang Prabang and the Mekong River.
Return to the hotel.
DAY 3: LUANG PRABANG
Early in the morning, departure to see monks walking around the city collecting offerings from local residents. Then tour the local market for a brief visit before returning to the hotel for breakfast.
Also in the morning, visit Wat Xieng Thong, the most important and significant monument in Laos, both from a religious point of view and traditional art. There are more than twenty structures on the grounds, including sanctuaries, pavilions, and residences, as well as flower gardens, shrubs, and ornamental trees. Continuation of the visit to the Wat Sane, Wat Mai, Wat Aham, Wat Visoun temples and the Ock Pop Tock textile craft center.
Lunch at a local restaurant (without drinks) and free time until the transfer time to Luang Prabang airport.
