Jalapão with Safari Korubo Camp

Day 1: applause
Arrival at Brigadeiro Lysias Rodrigues Airport, reception and regular transfer to the hotel. Accommodation for 1 night, with breakfast.


2nd day: PALMAS - JALAPÃO - SERRA GERAL - SUÇUAPARA CANYON - SAFARI CAMP KORUBO
After breakfast, drive to Jalapão, covering about 180 km on asphalt to Ponte Alta. On the way, pass through the district of Taquaruçu, one of the capital's tourist centers. Lunch at a local restaurant.

Scheduled stop at the Suçua Canyon for. Access requires a short trail, with a steep descent and ascent on firm gravel and dirt terrain (approximately 400 meters, round trip). During the journey to the canyon, it is necessary to walk along stretches with water and over rocks.

Then continue to the Serra da Muriçoca, crossing the sources of the Rio Vermelho and bordering the western part of the Serra Geral do Tocantins Ecological Station. From the top of the mountain, contemplation of the vastness of Jalapão, especially the view of the Serra da Jalapinha, the Serra do Espírito Santo and, in the distance, the Serra Geral da Bahia.

At the end of the day, arrival at Safari Camp Korubo, located on the banks of the Rio Novo (approximately 120 km on dirt road). Accommodation for 3 nights at Safari Camp Korubo, with full board.

Day 3: SAFARI CAMP KORUBO - CANOEING IN RIO NOVO - DUNES - SAFARI CAMP From
this point, it is possible to observe the sun rising behind the imposing Serra do Espírito Santo, in addition to using the terrestrial telescope to view the mountains surrounding the Camp and the cliffs that form the Jalapão Dunes.

After breakfast served on the banks of the river, instructions for canoeing will be given. Departure from the Safari Camp beach for a contemplative descent through the Rio Novo (approximately 1 hour of activity). Considered one of the last drinking water rivers in the world, the Rio Novo has a white sandy bottom that forms unique beaches. Along the way, moments to swim and dive in its crystal clear waters are frequent, adding adventure and excitement in small rapids. Return to Safari Camp Korubo for lunch.

In the afternoon, after free time to rest in the hammock or the Camp beach, departure to visit the Jalapão Dunes (18 km transfer to the start of the trail, easy level). On the way, pass through the Rio Novo Community, with a brief stop for photos at the bridge over the river and its rapids.

Soon after, a visit to the Dunes, composed of golden quartz sand and surrounded by plateaus, sidewalks and lagoons, offer a surreal setting, with cliffs that change color according to the luminosity, providing a spectacular sunset. At the end of the activity, return to the Camp.


4th day: SAFARI CAMP KORUBO - FERVEDOURO - CACHOEIRA DO FORMIGA - MATEIROS - SAFARI CAMP KORUBO
After breakfast, departure for Fervedouro and Cachoeira da Formiga. The boilers are springs of crystal clear waters with white sand bottoms. Due to the pressure of the water that sprouts from the ground, it becomes impossible to sink, providing a unique feeling of fluctuation.

Along the way, cross the Rio Preto Valley, between the Serras do Meio and Espírito Santo mountains. On the left, the Jalapão State Park; on the right, the eastern portion of the Serra Geral Ecological Station, together forming the largest mosaic of protected areas in the Brazilian savanna.

Arrival at Fervedouro do Soninho, which is exclusive to Korubo (approximately 75 km on a dirt road). On site, it is possible to bathe in the waters of the Sono River, the main tributary of the Tocantins River, where the cold water contrasts with the pleasant temperature of the boiling point.

Lunch at the Korubo outpost, next to Fervedouro do Soninho.

Then, drive to Cachoeira da Formiga (15 km on a dirt road), where a waterfall forms a natural pool of emerald green waters, providing a unique experience. After the visit, departure to the city of Mateiros (25 km on a dirt road), where it is possible to purchase goldengrass handicrafts, taste regional ice cream and enjoy the region. Return to Safari Camp Korubo for dinner.


Day 5: SAFARI CAMP KORUBO - CACHOEIRA DA VELHA - PALMAS
After breakfast, departure to visit Cachoeira da Velha (approximately 70 km on a dirt road). With impressive horseshoe-shaped waterfalls, it is considered the largest waterfall in Jalapão.

Continuation of the visit with a light walk to Cachoeira da Velha beach, a pleasant, shady place with shallow, crystalline waters, ideal for bathing and relaxation. After the snack, return by regular shuttle to Palmas.

Accommodation for 1 night, with breakfast.


Day 6: PALMAS
Breakfast and free time for independent activities and, at a scheduled time, regular transfer to Brigadeiro Lysias Rodrigues Airport for boarding and return to the city of origin.
