Dubrovnik
Divided between a medieval city and beautiful beaches, Dubrovnik is the most popular destination in Croatia. At any time of the year it is possible to be enchanted by the city, which combines history, nature, architecture and good cuisine.
What to do in Dubrovnik
- Surrounding the entire medieval city, Dubrovnik's walls are an average of 2 km long and are the city's main postcard. At the top of the walls there is a full view of the city.
- Stradun is the main street of the medieval city, with varied shops and restaurants. The region is perfect to enjoy an afternoon strolling through the alleys and discovering every corner.
- The cable car is another Dubrovnik classic. From the top, the viewpoint offers one of the most spectacular views of the city, with a privileged sunset. Upstairs there are also some restaurants, a brief exhibition that tells about the Croatian War of Independence, which took place from 1991 to 1995.
Split
The main city in the Dalmatia region is also an open-air museum. Split is known for housing a large 4th century Palace built by the Roman Emperor Diocletian, in addition to having beautiful beaches that can be explored by boat.
What to do in Split
- The Diocletian Palace is one of the best preserved in Europe and is still home to some families in the region. During the day, wander through the narrow streets and discover attractions such as the Cathedral of Saint Domnius and the gold and silver gates that guarded the Palace.
- In the Palace Lobby there are groups of Klapa who introduce themselves to visitors. The musical style is similar to chapels and is considered an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
- Bacvice beach is the closest to the historic center and has a complete infrastructure, chairs and bungalows that can be rented. Picigin games, a famous amateur sport in the country, also take place there, where players aim to keep a small ball in the air.
Zagreb
The capital of Croatia, Zagreb mixes the buildings of the Austro-Hungarian empire with cool restaurants and galleries. Off the beaten path of the more traditional beaches that tend to attract tourists, the city is perfect for travelers to appreciate its architecture.
What to do in Zagreb
- The Lorca Tower has one of the most beautiful views in the city. Traditionally, at 12:00 a “cannon shot” is fired from the tower to let the city's residents know the time.
- Because of the beautiful colored roof, the Church of Saint Mark is the most photographed in the country. In the same square are also the Croatian Parliament and other government buildings, where the inauguration ceremonies of the presidency are held.
- Tkalčićeva street is the most traditional street in the city and has buildings over 200 years old that blend with the bustle of bars and restaurants. For those who like the drink, the Mali Medo brewery is a traditional spot with 7 different types of beer.

How to get around Croatia
