Destination Madagascar

Distinct biodiversity, cities of colonial magnificence, beautiful golden sandy beaches, and remarkable culture reinforce Madagascar's rare riches.

Discover Madagascar

With biodiversity that rivals the Galapagos Islands, cities of colonial magnificence, beautiful golden sandy beaches, and a remarkable culture influenced by Europe, Africa, and the East, Madagascar's rare riches are worth exploring. The activities are divided into venturing into national parks to experience deep connectivity with nature, combined with moments of relaxation on paradisiacal islands and tours of heritage cities. All punctuated by contact with the peculiar local wildlife found only in Madagascar.

This nation located on the east coast of Africa, in the Indian Ocean, is home to one of the most precious and unique natural environments in the world. Its isolated location means that a distinct variety of animal and plant species have been able to conserve without external genetic influences. With currently extinct volcanoes, hidden waterfalls, mountains, plains, beaches and islands, the region where Madagascar is located was once completely covered by forests, but due to high levels of deforestation, the largest forest cover was lost. Despite this loss, hundreds of species of plants and trees are still present throughout the island, from huge baobab trees, thorny cacti and ferns, to the curious lemurs.

Touristic spots

Andasibe National Park

130 km from the capital Antananarivo, the park is a complex of protected areas and is home to 14 species of lemurs and the largest chameleon in Madagascar, which can reach up to 70 cm. The flora presents us with ferns and hundreds of species of orchids (including rare ones) that can be seen in the park.

What to do in Andasibe:

  • Night safari with a walk around the hotel to observe nocturnal lemurs and other animals.
  • A tour of the Peyrieras reserve brings together reptiles, amphibians, crocodiles and various chameleon species.

Alameda dos Baobás

Located on a stretch of dirt road in Morondava, the incredible scenery of centuries-old trees is characterized by the agglomeration of huge Baobabs and is one of the most visited spots in the country.

What to do in Alameda dos Baobás

  • Recommended only as a tour, having the opportunity to see a rare natural beauty up close is the attraction. Visitors can plan to visit the region in the late afternoon and thus catch the sunset among the trees, undoubtedly a beautiful landscape.
