Paraíba brings together a unique combination of nature, historical heritage, culture, and hospitality, providing experiences that go far beyond the coastline. With preserved beaches, colonial cities, popular traditions, outstanding cuisine, and a growing offer of high-end hotels and experiences, the state has established itself as one of the most complete and surprising destinations in the Brazilian Northeast. Discover some of the highlights that make Paraíba a special destination at any time of the year.

Best time to visit: Paraíba can be visited all year round, thanks to its tropical climate, with average temperatures between 24°C and 30°C. For those who want to take advantage of the beaches and outdoor walks, the period between September and March usually offers sunnier days and less rainfall. Already between June and July, the state gains even more life with the traditional June festivities, especially in Campina Grande, which welcomes visitors from all over the world to celebrate the “Greatest Saint John in the World”.

Beaches and nature: with about 140 kilometers of coastline, Paraíba has beaches for all styles. Among the most famous are Tambaba, one of the first official naturist beaches in Brazil; Coqueirinho, surrounded by cliffs and coconut trees; Tabatinga, ideal for those seeking tranquility; and Baía da Traição, where natural beauty meets the indigenous Potiguara culture. Also noteworthy are the natural pools of Picãozinho and Seixas, in addition to Ponta do Seixas, the easternmost point in the Americas.

History and heritage: founded in 1585, João Pessoa is the third oldest city in Brazil and preserves an important colonial architectural complex, with baroque churches, convents, museums and historic buildings that tell more than four centuries of history. In the interior, cities like Areia keep alive the heritage of ancient sugar mills, while the Pedra do Ingá archaeological site houses one of the most impressive sets of rock inscriptions in South America.

Faith and tradition: religiosity is part of Paraíba's identity and is manifested in historic churches, pilgrimages, and religious festivals scattered across the state. The São Francisco Cultural Center, in João Pessoa, is considered one of the most important examples of Brazilian Baroque architecture. In addition to the Catholic tradition, Paraíba preserves the indigenous roots of the Potiguara people, providing ethnotourism experiences that value rituals, crafts, gastronomy, and the connection with nature.

Gastronomy: Paraíba cuisine combines the flavors of the coast and the hinterland. Fresh seafood shares space with specialties such as sun meat, goat, rhubacão, macaxeira, rennet cheese and candies produced in the traditional mills of Brejo Paraibano. The artisanal cachaça production is also one of the highlights of the state.
