Paraíba: Between the Sea and the Sertano

Day 1: João Pessoa
Arrival at João Pessoa airport, reception by the local representative and private transfer to the hotel.
Accommodation for 2 nights, with breakfast.
João Pessoa, was founded on August 5, 1585 with the name of the Royal City of Our Lady of the Snows. It is considered the third oldest city in Brazil.
DAY 2: JOÃO PESSOA
After breakfast, departure for a private full-day tour of João Pessoa. Visit the city's main tourist attractions, such as the Historic Center, which was listed by the National Historical and Artistic Heritage Institute (IPHAN) in 2007, and the Tambaú Public Market.
Finally, take a walk on Jacaré Beach to watch the sunset.
Day 3: João Pessoa - Ingá - Campina Grande - Cariri Paraibano
Breakfast and check-out at the hotel. Travel through the Agreste region to the city of Ingá (PB), in the vicinity of which there is the main Brazilian archaeological monument. It is a 23 m long granite block covered with enigmatic inscriptions carved by the Indians thousands of years ago.
Stop for lunch (not included) in Campina Grade. Continuation of the trip to Pousada Matuto Sonhador, located in the Cariri Paraibano region.
Accommodation for 2 nights, with breakfast.
Day 4: CARIRI PARAIBANO
After breakfast, walk to the place known as “Manoel de Sousa”, an archaeological site where the immense granite cobblestones “hide” the paintings and the history of the region's first inhabitants. From above, contemplation of the stone formation of the Saca de Lã, a 15-meter-high pile that challenges the imagination of those trying to unravel its mysteries.
Then, visit Cabaceiras - a typical Cariri city - which, because it preserves houses from the late 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, was chosen as the setting for the movie “The Self of Compassion” and many others. Today, the city is known as the “Northeastern Roliúde”.
Free time for lunch (not included).
After a short rest, drive to Lajedo do Pai Mateus - an impressive rock slab, dotted with huge rounded granite blocks, similar to a cyclopean billiard table. The strong “energy” present in the place provides mystical experiences for those who are willing to experience them.
Return to the inn and free time to rest.
Day 5: Cariri Paraibano - Areia - João Pessoa
Breakfast and check-out at the hotel, a visit to the city of Areia, the birthplace of the painter Pedro Américo.
This small city, also known as the “Ouro Preto do Sertano”, preserves an interesting 19th and early 20th century house, as well as mills from that time.
Visit the old Minerva Theater, all built of cedar imported from Europe, and to the Triunfo cachaça, to learn the cachaça manufacturing process, followed by a tasting, of this beverage that is part of the history of the Northeastern economic cycle.
Free time for lunch and transfer to João Pessoa.
Accommodation for 2 nights, with breakfast.
Day 6: João Pessoa
Early in the morning, breakfast at the hotel and departure for a full-day buggy ride to the southernmost beaches, especially Ponta dos Seixas, the easternmost point in the Americas, where the Cabo Branco Lighthouse is located.
The activity also includes a visit to the beaches of Camurupim, Tabatinga, Coqueirinho and Tambaba.
Stop for lunch (not included) at a beachfront restaurant.
In the late afternoon, return to the hotel for independent activities.
Day 7: JOÃO PESSOA
Breakfast and check-out at the hotel, private transfer to João Pessoa airport.
