Extension to Uyuni

Uyuni, Villamar

Extension itinerary to Uyuni with a tour of the Salar, trails through colorful lagoons, flamingos, geysers, exotic valleys, authentic villages and typical cuisine amidst breathtaking landscapes.

Day 1: SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA (CHILE) - HITO CAJÓN (BOLIVIA) - VILLAMAR
Early on, private transfer from San Pedro de Atacama (Chile) to Hito Cajón (Bolivia). Day dedicated to exploring the route from Hito Cajón to the town of Villamar. At appropriate times, it includes a lunch with selected non-alcoholic beverages at a local restaurant.

Along the way, stop at Laguna Verde, an emerald-colored mineral salt lake located at the foot of the imposing Licancabur Volcano, with a height of 5916 meters, which houses the fifth highest lagoon in the world in its crater.

Passage through the thermal waters of Chalviri, a natural pool with crystal clear waters that reach up to 35°C, and through the Dalí Valley, famous for its surreal landscapes.

Then, visit the Sol de Mañana Geysers, with hot gas jets that reach up to 15 meters high.

Continue to Laguna Colorada and a panoramic tour to observe James' rare flamingos, the evergreen ice and the impressive color changes that give the lagoon its name.

Finally, arrival at the village of Villamar for accommodation for 1 night, with half board.

In the evening, dinner (without drinks) at the hotel.


Day 2: VILLAMAR - ALOTA - CULPINA K - UYUNI
After breakfast and check-out at the hotel, meet the guide in Spanish for a private full-day tour.

Visit to the cave paintings and the Tomas Lakhas Necropolis Fort.

Then, visit the Valley of the Rocks, where you can find the famous Arbol de Piedra, a natural monolith geomorphologically formed by erosion caused by the region's very strong wind.

Continue to Lost Italy, a geological formation of reddish and volcanic rocks, seen at Laguna Vinto and a tour of the villages of Alota and Culpina K. Along the way, stop at the Church of San Cristóbal, located in Potosí and famous

for having been disassembled stone by stone and rebuilt elsewhere.

Arrival in Uyuni and visit the train cemetery, which houses dozens of locomotives and wagons abandoned in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Accommodation for 1 night, with half board.



In the evening, dinner (without drinks) at the hotel.


Day 3: UYUNI
Breakfast, check-out and private full-day tour with guide in Spanish.

Departure to Gran Salar with a stop in the village of Colchani to visit an artisanal salt processor. At the Salar, visit the salt extraction area

Continue to Incahuasi Island, known as Pescado Island, where the famous giant cacti are found.

Aptapi-style lunch stop, an Andean tradition of sharing different dishes and flavors in a collective and welcoming environment, in the middle of the Gran Salar. Lunch includes selected non-alcoholic beverages.

Transfer to the southern region to contemplate the sunset, accompanied by wine and selected snacks.
