Special 7-day itinerary to explore Egypt. Check it out!
Day 1: CAIRO
Arrival at Cairo airport. Reception by a local representative, with assistance with immigration and customs. Private transfer to the hotel. Accommodation for 2 nights, with breakfast.
DAY 2: CAIRO
Breakfast at the hotel. Guided tour visiting one of the “Seven Wonders of the World”, the Pyramids of Giza (Cheops, Chephren and Mycerinus). These pyramids were built with 2,300,000 blocks, each weighing around 2 tons.
Not far from the pyramids is the Great Sphinx of Giza (2,620 BC), carved from natural yellowish limestone and measuring 20 meters high and 60 meters long, combining the head of a pharaoh with the body of a lion.
In the afternoon, time to explore the Egyptian Museum, established by the Egyptian Government in 1835. The current building was built in 1900, in the classic style of the French architect Marcel Dourgnon. The museum has more than 120,000 prehistoric and Greco-Roman period objects.
Finally, visit the Khan El Khalili bazaar, one of the most famous in the world with its incredible alleys. Return to the hotel.
Suggested optional activities (not included):
- Entry to the Cheops pyramid, considered one of the most interesting, because its chambers are open to the public;
- Quick visit to the Papyrus Institute or a perfume store;
- Lunch at a local restaurant before visiting the Egyptian Museum;
- Light show at the Pyramid of Giza.
DAY 3: CAIRO/ASWAN
Breakfast at the hotel, check out and transfer to the airport for a flight to Aswan. Upon arrival, assistance and private transfer to the port for boarding a 3-night cruise along the Nile River, with full board (drinks not included) and regular tours, with an English-speaking guide, according to the itinerary below.
- 11:00: check-in at the cruise ship.
- 12:30pm: lunch on board.
- 13:30: visit to the Aswan High Dam and the Philae temple.
- 19:30: dinner on board.
Overnight in Aswan.
Optional activity suggestion (not included):
- Before boarding the cruise, tour to Abu Simbel, by land or air. This tour leads to the small city of Abu Simbel, 280 km south of Aswan and just 40 km north of the border with Sudan. The majestic temples of Abu Simbel, perched atop a hill overlooking the Nile, are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
DAY 4: ASWAN - KOM OMBO - EDFU
- 07:00: breakfast on board. Optional tour, not included, to Abu Simbel.
- 12:30pm: lunch on board.
- 13:00: navigation to Kom Ombo.
- 17:00: visit to the Kom Ombo temple shared by the gods Sobek and Haeroris.
- 18:30: navigation to Edfu.
- 19:30: dinner on board.
Overnight in Edfu.
DAY 5: EDFU - LUXOR
- 06:00: tea and coffee before leaving to visit the temple of Edfu.
- 06:30: visit to the Temple of Horus in Edfu.
- 08:00: breakfast on board.
- 08:30: navigation to Luxor, via Esna.
- 13:00: lunch on board.
- Free afternoon for leisure or optional tour to visit the East Bank.
- 20h00: dinner on board.
Overnight in Luxor.
DAY 6: West Bank of the Nile/CAIRO
- 07:00: breakfast on board.
- 08h00: check-out.
- 08:00: visit to the West Bank - Valley of the Kings and Temple of Queen Hatshepsut.
After the visit, transfer to Luxor airport and fly to Cairo. Reception and transfer to accommodation for 1 night, with breakfast. Rest of the day free.
Optional activity suggestion (not included):
- Early in the morning, balloon ride.
DAY 7: CAIRO
Breakfast at the hotel, check out and transfer to Cairo airport.
