Tibet & Mount Everest

Lhasa, Gyantse, Shigatse, New Tingri

Itinerary to Tibet, a territory located north of the Himalayan mountain range. The country is the highest region in the world, with an average elevation of 4,900 meters and is sometimes referred to as “the roof of the world”.

Day 1: Lhasa
Arrival in Lhasa, reception and private transfer to the hotel. Accommodation for 3 nights with breakfast.


Day 2: Lhasa
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the Potala Palace, which was the Dalai Lama's winter residence since the 7th century. It is a symbol of Tibetan Buddhism and plays an important role in the traditional administration of Tibet. Visit the Jokhang Monastery, considered the cathedral of Tibetan Buddhism, and the Barkhor market.

Lunch with Chinese food or international buffet.


Day 3: Lhasa
After breakfast at the hotel, visit Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery — the second largest, located approximately 5 km north of Lhasa — and Norbulingkha, which means “jewel”, and is the summer palace of the Dalai Lamas. Lunch included.


Day 4: Lhasa - Gyantse
Breakfast and check-out at the hotel. On the tour to Gyantse, visit the famous Yangdrok Lake, which is one of the three great holy lakes in Tibet, over 72 km long.

In the afternoon, arrival in Gyantse. Visit the Perkhor Chode Monastery, which was founded in 1365 and was home to thousands of monks, thanks to its good location, where commerce exists.

Lunch included. Accommodation in Gyantse for 1 night, with breakfast.


Day 5: Gyantse - Shigatse
Breakfast and check-out at the hotel. Travel by car to Shigatse. Upon arrival, visit the Tashilhunpo Monastery, founded in 1447, and Mount Shalu, with beautiful wall paintings.

Lunch included. Accommodation in Shigatse for 1 night, with breakfast.


Day 6: Shigatse - New Tingri
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer by car to Nova Tingri. Arrival and accommodation for 2 nights, with breakfast.

In the afternoon, visit the Sakya Temple, a Sakya-style Tibetan Buddhist temple with a long history. In 1961 it was listed as a national entity for the protection of cultural relics by the Council of State.


Day 7: New Tingri
Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Rumbuk, a village nestled at the foot of Mount Everest, from where you can see its summit (weather permitting). Lunch with Chinese food. Return to the hotel.


Day 8: New Tingri - Shigatse
Breakfast and check-out at the hotel. Transfer by car to Shigatse. Arrival and accommodation for 1 night with breakfast.

In the afternoon, visit the Shigatse Market.


Day 9: Shigatse - Lhasa
Breakfast and check-out at the hotel. Travel by car to Lhasa. Arrival and accommodation for 1 night with breakfast.

In the afternoon, an opportunity to get closer to Tibetan culture by making traditional incense or learning calligraphy.


Day 10: Lhasa
Breakfast and check-out at the hotel. Private airport transfer.

This itinerary includes:
