Destination Australia

That dream trip to Australia starts with solid planning. Start preparing here!

Discover Australia

Cultural immersion, cosmopolitan adventures and luxury retreats, Australia's diversity provides captivating experiences of all kinds.

Remote beaches border prehistoric forests, deserts are swept away by the wind that blows in rustic cities, where residents talk about art and politics in pubs. Coastal cities come alive with the sights and sounds of local culture and cuisine, and fall asleep to the sound of wonderful and intriguing wildlife.

Divided into six states and two territories, Australia has many exciting experiences to offer. In New South Wales, the country's oldest state, Sydney shines with its incredible landmarks. Victoria, the smallest state on the continent, is home to Melbourne, “the most livable city” in the world.

Including Tasmania in the itinerary is sure to experience wildlife, with kangaroos and wallabies in their natural habitat. In Queensland, the most tropical of all states, Brisbane, Gold Coast, and the Great Barrier Reef are some of visitors' favorite places.

A trip to Australia is even more special when combined with other destinations, such as New Zealand or the Fiji Islands. Or taking themed itineraries, such as aboriginal culture, the best beaches, wine and cuisine, or the incredible luxury lodges.

Touristic spots

Sydney

Because it is the most famous and well-known city in Australia, many are confused thinking that this is the country's capital - which is a mistake, since the capital is Canberra. In any case, visiting it is practically a must, since it is home to the symbolic Sydney Opera House and is the iconic city of the land of kangaroos.

Whatever time of year it is, the highlights of Sydney are always ready to surprise you. It won't be hard to find people playing sports, exercising on the streets, as well as having a light atmosphere, leafy neighborhoods, efficient transportation and a delightful sea breeze when visiting the Circular Quay region.

Sydney has some of the most hospitable and picturesque beaches in Australia. Whether you're looking for a surfing beach, relaxing with family or exercising with friends, miles of sand and a variety of beachfront restaurants make Sydney a city you can explore at any time of the year.

Gold Coast

Known as a surfer's paradise, with beautiful beaches and an exciting atmosphere, the city of Gold Coast is one of Australia's most sought after destinations. There are more than 30 beaches that make the city paradisiacal. But it's not just because of the beaches that Gold Coast has become such a popular destination, but the offer of countless activities ranging from theme parks to natural parks of unparalleled beauty.

With 300 days of sunshine a year, Gold Coast has an extremely inviting climate, especially for Brazilians who love outdoor days at the beach, hiking and discovering the city's various tourist attractions.

And if you are a surfer or love the sport, Gold Coast hosts world surfing championships and has one of the most famous beaches in the world - Surfers Paradise. There's no way not to fall in love with this city!

Melbourne

A cosmopolitan city that doesn't lose its charm and elegance: that's Melbourne. The second largest city in Australia and one of the country's business centers, Melbourne oozes culture, organization and has a very plural atmosphere.

Find cafés and restaurants for every taste, people from all over the world, and a mix of modern and classic, that make Melbourne one of the best cities in the world to live in.

Australians love outdoor sports and Melbourne isn't far behind. There are many parks around the city and great places to practice outdoor activities, as well as good golf courses. It also hosts some of the most important sporting events in the country, such as Formula 1 and the Tennis Open.

Melbourne has well-integrated and organized public transport, so it can take you to any corner of the city with ease. It is just a few hours from several incredible places in Australia, such as Bells Beach, the famous beach among surfers and which hosts surfing championships, and the 12 Apostles, a rock formation that is one of the country's postcards.

What to do in Australia?

Sydney Opera House

This is undoubtedly one of Australia's symbols. Going to the country and not visiting it is as if you had never set foot in Australia. Opened in 1973, the Sydney Opera House is an incredible 20th-century architectural work that brings creativity and innovation in the form of architecture and design.

To observe it in person is to feel that you are really in Australian land. Contemplating its beauty and meaning is, without a doubt, quite an experience. And who knows you don't watch a beautiful opera at this global icon while visiting Sydney?

Great Barrier Reef

One of the seven natural wonders of the world and one of Australia's most important natural gifts, the Great Barrier Reef is the world's largest structure made solely by living organisms and blessed with breathtaking beauty. Its size and extension allow it to be seen from space.

The reef contains an abundance of marine life and comprises more than 3,000 individual coral and islet systems and literally hundreds of tropical islands with wonderful beaches.

Precisely because of its indescribable natural beauty, the Great Barrier Reef has become a very popular destination among tourists. If you visit it, you will have a unique experience during your trip, with the possibility of immersing yourself in its blue immensity and enjoying unparalleled marine beauty.

A honeymoon is a special time in the life of any couple, and there's nothing better than celebrating surrounded by the blue Pacific ocean and the fascinating landscapes of the Great Barrier Reef combined with privacy, serenity, and luxury.

12 Apostles

With a breathtaking view, the 12 Apostles are located on the Australian coast of the state of Victoria and fill the eyes with their immense structures. Watching the sunset, listening to the sound of the sea hitting the rocks, is an unparalleled experience of contact with nature.

The 12 Apostles are sandstone columns in the Southern Ocean that are located in Port Campbell National Park. According to Australia's official website, these columns are guardians of an ancient world. Millions of years ago they were attached to the continent's cliffs and were then sculpted by waves and winds. First forming caves, then arches and, finally, large columns.

At first glance, you can see 7 rock structures to the west, with another two visible at beach level. If you want a truly unforgettable experience, the suggestion is to book a helicopter ride to fully appreciate the beauty and greatness of the 12 Apostles seen from above.

Best time to go to Australia

Due to its territorial extension, it is possible to visit Australia year-round. It is recommended to avoid the country's deserted region in the summer months due to high temperatures. Winter in the south of the country is quite severe - which can be advantageous for those who wish, in a single visit, to discover the Australian beaches, the desert and the ski slopes.

It is normal for tropical storms to occur in the northeast of the country in the summer months. And if you're planning a trip between October and May, watch out for signs on the beaches due to the sparkling waters. If you feel safer, it is possible to rent specific lycra clothing for diving (some diving companies even offer it along with the equipment).

Australia is located in Oceania, in the southern hemisphere, which makes the temperatures very similar to those in Brazil. The climate is quite favorable, with many sunny days and very hot summers.

Australia's climate is influenced by ocean currents, including El Niño, which is correlated with periodic drought and the tropical pressure system that produces cyclones in northern Australia. The result is the annual variation in rainfall levels.

About ¾ of Australia is considered a desert area or semiarid zone. Southwest Western Australia has a very pleasant Mediterranean climate, while much of the Southeast, including Tasmania, is temperate.
