Few places in the world offer such rich and beautiful underwater life as that found on the Great Barrier Reef in Australia.

The Coral Sea, which lies beyond the Great Barrier Reef, will provide you with an even more rewarding experience, since its reefs, little explored by man, are surrounded by walls that reach 1000 m deep and whose visibility, in general, reaches 100 m, rarely less than 50 m. The dive package below offers you the unique opportunity to explore this underwater paradise and also, the already famous and beautiful Great Barrier Reef.

Spirit of Freedom
has one of the best and most extensive Liveaboard vessels in the region! With excellent service, the vessels include the best Australian wines during dinners. Spirit of Freedom is one of the few options that offer spacious cabins with TV/DVD and private bathrooms. The liveaboard takes place in the Osprey Reef, Cod Hole and Ribbon Reef region of the Great Barrier Reef.

A travel agent will inform you about whale seasons. These remote places promise an enormous variety of dives including reef gardens, schools of tuna and barracudas, as well as spots with incredible visibility.

NORTHERN GREAT BARRIER REEF & COD HOLE

THE COD HOLE
Location: Northern part of Ribbon Reef #10

The Cod Hole is famous for its local residents, the Potato Cod. These huge fish are tranquil and are used to divers, giving the opportunity for beautiful photos. The Cod Hole also has excellent coral life in the shallowest part of the main reef. The place is subject to currents at full tide, allowing for great drift diving on this occasion.

You can see: Giant Potato Cod/Flowery Cod/Spine Cheek Anemone Fish/Lion Fish/Pygmy Sea Horse/Reef Sharks/Maori Wrasse/Giant Trevally.


LIGHT HOUSE BOMMIE
Location: Southern part outside Ribbons Reef #10

An isolated pinnacle in deep water. Lighthouse Bommie rises 30 meters from the seabed and up to 05 meters from the surface. The Lighthouse draws shoals from Trevally, Barracuda, and Sea Perch. Golden Sea snakes are seen on most dives. At certain times of the year, manta rays also appear on the site.

You can see: Gorgonian fans/Sea Whips/Spotted Eagle Rays/Manta Rays/Turtles Golden and Banded/Sea Snakes/Whaler Sharks/Nudibranchs.


CHALLENGER BAY
Location: South of Ribbon Reef #10

Challenger Bay has an incredible variety of marine life, providing excellent diving during the day or at night. The point has a bottom of 30 meters of sloping sand that reaches the end of the reef and reaches 08 meters. Large schools of Fussiliers and Trevally are commonly seen, in addition to pelagic fish such as Mackeral, sardines, and barracuda.

You can see: Barracuda/Batfish/Antheas/Giant mollusks/Reef Sharks/Sweetlip/Fussiliers/Mackeral/Sardines/Lion fish.


PIXIE PINNACLE
Location: Northern part of Ribbon Reef #9 .5

Pixie Pinnacle is a small, isolated bommie with its base 30 m deep and rising to almost the surface. This location may have strong currents depending on the tide.

You can see: Barracuda/Trevally/Antheas/Nudibranchs/Pipe Fish/Lion Fish/Hydroids/Mantis Shrimp/Stone Fish/Octopus.


PIXIE WALL
Location: Ribbon Reef #9

This dive spot has a 30-meter-deep wall, a 60-meter-deep reef platform, and some small bommies starting at 20 meters.

You can see: Purple Antheas/Gorgonians/Soft Coral/Nudibranchs/Lion Fish/Sharks/Garden Eels/Moray Eels.


ANDY'S POSTCARD
Location: Outside Ribbon Reef #5

Andy's postcard is an isolated bommie that is suspended up to 50 meters from the surface and falls up to 50 meters at its base. This spot is subject to current but attracts a wide variety of schools.

You can see: Trevally/Mackeral/Lion Fish/Nudibranchs/Anemones/Scorpion Fish/Giant Grouper/Antheas.


HONEYMOONERS
The name was given in honor of a couple of honeymooning divers traveling aboard. Honeymooners is a little bommie inside Ribbon Reef #5. Although the bommie is small, it contains a wide variety of marine life, especially in the top section.

You can see: Lion fish/Nudibranchs/Gorgonian fans/Barracuda/Spine Cheek/Anemone Fish/Antheas.


CLAM BEDS
Location: Ribbon Reef #5

As suggested by its name, this is a giant mollusc site. Some even measure more than 10 meters in length. The main reef wall has some interesting caves and passages.

You can see: Giant Clams/Cuttlefish/Sweetlips/Trigger Fish/Anemone Fish/Reef Sharks/Nudibranchs


STEVE'S BOMMIE
Location: Outside Ribbon Reef #3 Steve's Bommie rises from 30 meters to 05 meters above the surface.

About 20 meters away is a plaque in memory of Steve.

You can see: Big Eye Trevally/Barrucuda/Sea Perch/Dust/Nudibranchs/Pipe Fish/Stone Fish/Cuttlefish/Mantis Shrimp.


FLARE POINT
Location: Outside the southern part of Ribbon Reef #3

Flare Point has a shallow wall and also 02 deep bommies.

You can see: Cuttlefish/Turtles/Moray Eels/Hermit Crabs/White Tip Reef Sharks/Unicorn Fish.


JOANIE'S JOY
Location: Outside the northern part of Ribbon Reef #2

Joanie's Joy is a wall that reaches 30 meters and rises to 03 meters with some bommies scattered around.

You can see: Anemones/Cuttlefish/Nudibranchs/Sweetlip/White Tip Reef Sharks/Trumpet Fish/Lion Fish/Turtles.


ANDERSON REEF
Anderson has a 10-meter wall. In the eastern part there is a bommie that falls up to 18 meters.

You can see: White Tip Reef Sharks/Sweetlip/Hammerhead Sharks/Blue Spotted Rays/Clown Triggerfish/Lion Fish.


BASHFUL BOMMIE
Location: Opal Reef

Bashful Bommie is 18 meters away, on the outside of the main reef wall. It also has some small bommies at the base.

You can see: Turtles/Flat Worms/White Tip Reef Sharks/Giant Clams/Sweetlip/Nudibranchs.


OSPREY REEF, CORAL SEA

North Horn
Sharks, sharks and more sharks!
An unforgettable dive for those who want an encounter with a variety and quantity of sharks. North Horn has a natural amphitheater at the end of the main reef and a wall that plummets hundreds of meters deep from so close to the surface. It has a wide variety of soft corals between 25 and 40 meters.

Cod Half Way Wall
As its name says, Half Way Wall is halfway between North Horn and The Entrance. At the edge of the wall there are several bommies starting at 20 meters. The main wall starts just below the boat and descends hundreds of meters.

You can see: Grey Whalers/Grey Reef Sharks/White Tip Reef Sharks/Turtles/Mackeral/Maori Wrasse/Barracuda.


The Entrance
This dive spot is right at the entrance of Osprey Reef's lagoon. There are some bommies rising from 30 meters on the edge of the reef, and a wall goes down hundreds of meters.

False Entrance
Similar to The Entrance, this point has a number of bommies raised from 25 meters and a wall descending hundreds of meters.
