Explore the “Treasures of India” on a 15-day itinerary, passing through historic cities, temples, palaces, and rituals that mark the country's culture and spirituality.
DAY 1: MUMBAI
Arrival in Mumbai, reception at the airport by the local representative and transfer to the hotel. Accommodation for 2 nights, with breakfast.
Mumbai, located on the west coast of India, is the country's largest city and financial center. Known for its dynamic cultural scene, the city is home to Bollywood, the largest Indian film industry, and offers a rich gastronomic and artistic experience. Mumbai is a melting pot of cultures, reflected in its diverse population.
DAY 2: MUMBAI
Breakfast at the hotel and full-day tour, with a guide in Spanish or English, in the city of Mumbai.
Visit the Gateway of India, a monument erected to commemorate the arrival of King George V and Queen Mary in 1911.
Then, regular ferry crossing to visit the Elephanta Caves, a complex of Hindu temples dedicated primarily to Shiva, and shrines on Elephanta Island. During the tour, walk through different corridors and caves, including the main cave, where the Trimurti sculpture is located, dedicated to the three deities: Shiva, Brahma and Vishnu.
In the afternoon, visit the Mani Bhavan Gandhi Sangrahalaya, a museum and historic building dedicated to Gandhi. Mani Bhavan was the place where Mahatma Gandhi began his political activities between 1917 and 1934.
Travel to the northern region of the city, passing through Victoria Station, currently called Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), one of the most iconic railway stations in India and a stop at Dhobi Ghat (closed on Monday and fourth Saturdays of the month and holidays), the largest open-air laundry in the world and known for the more than 7 thousand dhobis (washing clothes), who work diligently outdoors.
DAY 3: MUMBAI/VARANASI
Breakfast and check-out at the hotel. Transfer to the airport to board a flight to Varanasi. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Accommodation for 2 nights, with breakfast.
Varanasi is one of the sacred cities in Hinduism, dedicated to Shiva, and is the most important pilgrimage center in India. It's a unique city that vibrates with cosmic forces beyond comprehension.
At the end of the day, during sunset, rickshaw ride (traditional transportation) followed by an Aarti ceremony in the Ghats (steps) of the Ganges River and a short boat ride along the river, allowing observation of Hindu temples.
DAY 4: VARANASI
Early at sunrise, go to the Ghats (stairs) of the Ganges River to observe the purification rituals.
Return to the hotel and breakfast.
In the afternoon, visit the Sarnath Buddhist temple (closed on Fridays), which marks the place where Buddha began teaching his followers.
Return to the hotel.
DAY 5: VARANASI/DELHI - AGRA
Breakfast and check-out at the hotel. Transfer to the airport to board a flight to Delhi. From Delhi, it takes about 4 hours to Agra.
Accommodation for 2 nights, with breakfast.
Agra, the city mentioned in the “Mahabharata”, was a center of power during the reign of the Mughals. The city is known for the Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
DAY 6: AGRA
Breakfast and visit to the Taj Mahal, India's most fascinating and beautiful monument.
The Taj Mahal was completed in 1653 A.D. by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his favorite queen, Mumtaz Mahal. This perfectly symmetrical monument took 22 years of hard work and 20,000 workers, bricklayers, and jewelers to build and is located amidst gardens. Return to the hotel for breakfast.
Then, visit the Red Fort (also known as Agra Fort), built in 1573 by the Mughal emperor Akbar. The palace is surrounded by walls and is considered the most important fortress in all of India.
Return to the hotel and free afternoon for independent activities.
DAY 7: AGRA - JAIPUR
After breakfast and check-out at the hotel, travel of approximately 6 hours to Jaipur.
Along the way, stop at Abhaneri village and visit Chand Baori, one of the largest and deepest step wells in the country. Built to preserve water and alleviate intense heat, the site also served as a meeting place for the community and royalty. A true architectural masterpiece, it has 3,500 narrow and perfectly symmetrical steps.
Arrival in Jaipur and accommodation for 2 nights, with breakfast.
Jaipur, Rajasthan's vibrant capital, is known as “The Pink City” because of its architecture in shades of terracotta pink, adopted in 1876 to welcome Prince Albert and symbolize hospitality. With its rich cultural heritage, the city enchants with majestic palaces, historic forts and markets.
DAY 8: JAIPUR
After breakfast, half-day tour, with a guide in Spanish or English, in the city of Jaipur.
Visit Amber Fort, which is a mix of Hindu and Mughal architecture. Built by Maharaja Man Singh I, Amber Fort served as the main residence of Jaipur's rulers. Amber Fort overlooks Lake Maotha in the city of Amer, former capital of Jaipur.
Then, stop by the City Palace, which brings together architectural influences from Rajasthani and Mughal cultures. Then stop for photos at the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), where royal women watched the processions (ceremonial marches) without being seen.
Finally, free time at Bapu Bazaar, renowned for its crafts, fragrances, attar, woodwork, colorful sarees, unique sandstone artifacts, leather products, and traditional Mojris shoes.
DAY 9: JAIPUR - JODHPUR
Breakfast and check-out at the hotel, about a seven-hour drive to Jodhpur. Arrival and accommodation for 2 nights, with breakfast.
Jodhpur, located in the Thar Desert, is a popular tourist destination, famous for its stately palaces, forts, and temples. Known as the “Blue City”, its name comes from the color of the houses under the Mehrangarh Fort. Initially, only Brahmin houses were painted blue, but the color was soon adopted by the other castes, due to the belief that blue helped to ward off heat and mosquitoes.
DAY 10: JODHPUR
Breakfast at the hotel and departure for a half-day tour, with a guide in Spanish or English, in the city of Jodhpur.
Visit to Mehrangarh Fort, known as the Sun Citadel, inspired by the culture of the Rathore clan, which ruled the city. Observation of its various palaces, with their friezes (a strip of the upper architectural area with representations) and their respective museums, which display the treasures of the city's royal family. Observation of Jaswant Thada, marble monument with columns that belonged to the ruler who developed the city.
Free afternoon for independent activities.
DAY 11: JODHPUR - UDAIPUR
Breakfast at the hotel and a trip of about 6 hours to Udaipur. Along the way, stop in Ranakpur for a brief visit.
The Ranakpur Temples are monuments dedicated to Jains, followers of one of the oldest religions in India, especially the carving done on its 1444 pillars, distributed in its 29 halls. Inside the enclosed temple, the guide cannot speak. Because of this, the ticket includes audio guide rental (in Spanish and English). Women have to cover their hair (without extreme rigor) when entering the temple. It is possible to bring garments with scarves to serve as your own veil.
Arrival in Udaipur and accommodation for 2 nights, with breakfast.
One of the most romantic cities in India, Udaipur is known as the Venice of the East for its lakes, in a complete contrast to the Rajasthan desert.
DAY 12: UDAIPUR
Breakfast at the hotel and departure for a full-day tour, with a guide in Spanish or English, in the city of Udaipur.
Visit the City Palace Museum, which was built in a fusion of Rajasthani and Mughal architectural styles, atop a hill, offering panoramic views of Lake Pichola.
The 300-year-old complex is comprised of 11 palaces built by their Maharanas, making it the largest complex among Rajasthan's palaces.
DAY 13: UDAIPUR/DELHI
Breakfast and check-out at the hotel. Transfer to the airport to board a flight to Delhi. Arrival and accommodation for 2 nights, with breakfast.
Delhi is a center of cultural diversity, reflected in its cuisine, festivals, and cosmopolitan population. The city plays a crucial role as India's political, economic, and cultural center, attracting visitors from around the world to experience its unique blend of tradition and innovation.
DAY 14: DELHI
Breakfast at the hotel and departure for a full-day tour, with a guide in Spanish or English, in the city of Delhi.
New Delhi tour, with passage through the Red Fort, built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, and includes a rickshaw ride (traditional transportation) in Chandni Chowk, one of the largest and oldest bazaars in India.
Visit the Bangla Sahib Temple, a sacred place open 24 hours a day, where thousands of people are welcomed and fed daily. The experience requires the removal of shoes, the covering of the head, and the use of ablution fountains, providing an environment of spirituality, conviviality, and learning.
Then, visit the Gandhi Smriti (closed on Mondays), where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated on January 31, 1948. The route passes through the diplomatic area, government buildings, Rashtrapati Bhawan, Parliament and the India Gate.
Finally, visit the Humayun Tomb, the mausoleum of the Mughal emperor Humayun, in Delhi, where it is necessary to remove the shoes, according to tradition at sacred sites.
DAY 15: DELHI
Breakfast and check-out at the hotel. Transfer to Delhi airport.
