Jordanian Beauties
Amman, Petra, Dead Sea, Wadi Rum

8-day group outings to explore the beauty of Jordan.
DAY 1: AMMAN
Arrival at Amman Airport, meeting with the local representative and immigration assistance. Transfer to the hotel and accommodation for 3 nights, with half board.
DAY 2: AMMAN - JERASH - AJLOUN - AMMAN
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Ajloun.
Ajloun with its castle at 1,250 meters above sea level. It was built by one of Saladin's generals in 1184 A.D. to check local iron mines and prevent Frankish invasions. Ajloun Castle dominated the three main access routes to the Jordan Valley, protecting trade routes between Jordan and Syria. It became an important link in the defense chain against the Crusaders, who tried in vain for decades to invade the castle and the surrounding village. From there, you have incredible views of the Jordan Valley and the surrounding desert.
Continue to Jersah, which has a history of human presence of more than 6500 years, a large and fascinating archaeological site that covers the history of the region from the Neolithic to the Roman Greek centuries, from the Byzantine to the late Muslim period. The ruins are immense and stand out: Hadrian's Arch, the Hippodrome, the Colonnade Street, the Theaters, the Jerash Archaeological Museum, and others.
DAY 3: AMMAN - DESERT CASTLES - DEAD SEA - AMMAN
After breakfast at the hotel, departure to visit the Desert Castles, an example of Islamic architecture remaining from the Vll and Vlll centuries, inspired by Persian and Greco-Roman tradition. During the tour, highlight the Qusair Amra, which served as a fortress, the Umayyads, and the Qasr al-Azraq, built of basalt.
Then, visit the Dead Sea, where there will be an opportunity to float in its salty and therapeutic waters. The Dead Sea is over 400 meters below sea level. The lowest point on the face of the Earth, this vast expanse of water receives water from several rivers, including the Jordan River. Once the waters reach the Dead Sea and have nowhere to go, they then evaporate, leaving behind a dense and rich combination of salts and minerals that provide industry, agriculture, and medicine with some of their best products.
Return to the hotel.
DAY 4: AMMAN - MADABA - MOUNT NEBO - PETRA
After breakfast and check-out at the hotel, tour the main tourist sights of Amman, such as the Citadel, the ruins of Hercules and the Roman Theater.
Continue to Madaba, one of the most memorable places in Jordan. Nicknamed the “city of Mosaics”, it has several places to visit, including the Orthodox Church of Saint George, where the first mosaic map of the Holy Land is located.
Continue to Mount Nebo, Moses' memorial, located on top of a mountain with a fascinating view of the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, Jericho and Jerusalem.
Arrival in Petra and check-in for accommodation for 2 nights, with half board.
DAY 5: PETRA
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to visit Petra, the birthplace of the Nabataean people, was founded in 312 BC and became an important axis in the trade routes for silk caravans, incense and spices, which linked China and India to Greece, Rome, Egypt and Syria.
The city was inhabited by the Romans Pompey and Herod, but it only succumbed in about 130, when emperor Hadrian conquered it. Some time later, with a strong earthquake, the Nabateans left her. Petra was abandoned and forgotten. Only the Bedouins knew how to find her in the desert. Until, in 1812, the Swiss explorer Johann Ludwig Burckhardt, a lover of Muslim culture, impersonated an Arab merchant to gain the trust of the Bedouins. UNESCO describes Petra as a World Heritage Site.
Return to the hotel.
DAY 6: PETRA - WADI RUM
Breakfast and check-out at the hotel. Full day tour to Petra, the Pink City, capital of the Nabataeans. During the visit, you will discover the most important and representative monuments sculpted in rock by the Nabateans: the Treasury, a famous and internationally renowned monument brought to the cinema in one of the Indiana Jones movies, and the colorful tombs, among others.
Continuation of the trip to Wadi Rum.
Breakfast and check-out at the hotel. Tour to Little Petra, which appeared about 2,000 years ago in the Nabataean Empire. Also known as Siq al-Barid, which means cold canyon, since the place has always been protected from the desert heat and from caravan robbers by sandstone rocks. It is located a few meters from the largest known water reservoir in the region, carved into the rocks themselves, an indestructible mark of the Nabatean civilization, which developed efficient methods of collecting water in arid deserts.
Continuation of the trip to the Wadi Rum Desert, known as the Valley of the Moon. Inhabited by many groups since prehistoric times, who left their marks on cave paintings, records, and temples. In the West, Wadi Rum is known for its connection with British officer T. E. Lawrence, who visited there several times during the Arab Revolt, 1917-1978.
Tour in a 4x4 vehicle through the desert, driven by Bedouins for about 2 hours.
