An immersive expedition through the heart of the largest floodplain on the planet, combining land and river safaris in search of the iconic jaguars, stingrays and extraordinary Pantanal wildlife
Day 1: CUIABÁ - POCONÉ - PANTANAL NORTE
Arrival at Cuiabá - Marechal Rondon International Airport in the morning, followed by land transfer to Pantanal Norte. After approximately 1h30 of traveling, arrival in the city of Poconé, the main gateway to the Pantanal.
From this point, the route begins along Transpantaneira, a dirt road that crosses one of the most preserved regions of the Pantanal biome. Along the way, there will be several stops to observe and photograph the local fauna, often seen in flooded areas and roadsides. Arrival at the inn shortly before lunch. Accommodation for 2 nights, with full board. Soon after, departure for a guided walk along forest trails, exploring different ecosystems in search of terrestrial mammals, birds and other species typical of the region.
At dusk, a night safari is held to observe the nocturnal fauna. With the assistance of a naturalist guide, it is possible to spot species such as octopus, puma, anteater anteater, baby anteater, barefoot, vulture and different species of owls.
Day 2: PANTANAL NORTE
Day entirely dedicated to the exploration of the extraordinary wildlife of this private reserve of approximately 10,000 hectares, located in one of the most preserved regions of the Pantanal.
Throughout the day, carefully planned activities are carried out to maximize wildlife viewing opportunities at different periods of animal activity. Experiences include land safaris in search of emblematic mammals and birds, guided hikes along forest trails for a closer immersion in local ecosystems, and night trips aimed at observing species with nocturnal habits accompanied by a specialized guide, each activity provides excellent opportunities for photography and contemplation of Pantanal biodiversity in its natural habitat.
Day 3: PANTANAL NORTE - Estrada Parque Transpantaneira - Porto Jofre Early
breakfast and check-out from the inn. Departure to the remote region of Porto Jofre, following the legendary Transpantaneira to its final stretch. Considered one of the best destinations in the world for spotting jaguars in a natural environment, the region is home to one of the highest concentrations of these felines in the Pantanal.
Along the way, several strategic stops are made to observe and photograph the abundant Pantanal fauna, often seen on the side of the road and in the surrounding flooded areas. The trip turns into a true land safari, with excellent opportunities to spot birds, alligators, capybaras, Pantanal deer and other emblematic animals of the region. Accommodation for 5 nights, with full board. Free time.
In the afternoon, departure for the first river safari in search of the iconic jaguar and other wild animals that inhabit the region's shores and canals. Navigation through the Pantanal rivers and corixos, providing excellent opportunities for observing wildlife in one of the richest and most preserved ecosystems on the planet.
Day 4 to day 7: Porto Jofre
Days dedicated to river safaris along the Cuiabá River and its tributaries, exploring one of the Pantanal's most privileged regions for wildlife observation: the Encontro das Águas State Park, recognized worldwide for its high concentration of jaguars in its natural habitat.
Throughout the expeditions, excellent opportunities for sighting and photographing jaguars, ariranhas, alligators, capybaras, birds of prey, kingfishers and countless other emblematic species of the Pantanal. Navigating the canals, corixos, and riverbanks provides a dynamic and immersive experience, allowing safe approaches and extended observations of the fauna in its natural habitat.
Safaris are held during periods of greatest animal activity and best light of the day, starting at sunrise and continuing until noon.
After lunch break and rest, activities resume in the middle of the afternoon, remaining under exploration until sunset, when the Pantanal landscapes reveal especially impressive settings for contemplation and photography.
Return to the hotel.
8th day: PORTO JOFRE - Estrada Parque Transpantaneira - CUIABÁ
Breakfast and check-out from the inn. Private transfer to Cuiabá - Marechal Rondon International Airport.
THIS ITINERARY INCLUDES:
- Accommodation for 2 nights in Pantanal Norte, with full board;
- Accommodation for 5 nights in Porto Jofre with full board;
- Private ground transfers, including reception at Cuiabá Airport and return to the airport at the end of the trip;
- Land safaris carried out in a comfortable 4x4 vehicle, ideal for exploring and observing Pantanal fauna
- Private river safaris: 4 full days + 1 half-day of sailing along the Cuiabá River and its tributaries, on a 115hp speedboat, focusing on the observation of jaguars, stingrays and other emblematic Pantanal species
