A journey through the contrasts of Mongolia, combining the vibrant capital Ulan Bator with the remote landscapes of the Gobi Desert, with authentic experiences combined with nomadic culture and natural landscapes of rare grandeur.
Day 1: ULAN BATOR
Arrival in Ulan Bator (Ulaanbaatar). Private transfer to the hotel. Accommodation for 2 nights, with full board.
Ulan Bator, the capital of Mongolia, is renowned for its Buddhist monasteries, museums, and historic monuments. The city combines traditional Mongolian and Soviet influences and is a political, cultural, and economic center of the country.
Day 2: ULÃN BATOR - GORKHI NATIONAL PARK - TERELJ - ULÃN BATOR
Breakfast at the hotel. Private full-day tour of Gorkhi-Terelj National Park, with English-speaking guide.
Along the way, stop at Tsonjun Boldog to visit the Chinggis Khaan Statue.
Arrival to Gorkhi-Terelj National Park. Then ride to explore the region, passing gentle hills, the iconic Turtle Rock, and wildflower-covered fields, depending on the season.
Visit the Aryapala Meditation Temple, located on top of a hill, offering an environment of contemplation that harmonizes Buddhist philosophy with the grandeur of the natural landscape.
Return to the hotel.
Day 3: ULAN BATOR/DALANZADGAD - GOBI DESERT
Breakfast and check-out at the hotel. Private airport transfer for boarding a flight to Dalanzadgad.
Arrival and private transfer to the lodge in the Gobi Desert. Accommodation for 2 nights, with full board.
The Gobi Desert is a large arid region that extends across Mongolia and northern China. Known for its extreme climate, important paleontological sites with dinosaur fossils, and nomadic communities that inhabit the region. It is one of the main natural attractions in Mongolia and its main gateway is the city of Dalanzadgad, next to the Gobi Gurvansaikhan National Park.
Day 4: GOBI DESERT
Breakfast at the lodge. Private full-day tour of the Gobi Desert, with an English-speaking guide.
Hike through the Yol Valley, located in the Gobi Gurvansaikhan National Park, famous for the presence of permanent ice fields, a rare phenomenon in a desert region, in addition to housing a rich diversity of flora and fauna.
Then continue on a moderately difficult trail to the Khavtsgait Petroglyphs, reaching high points that provide panoramic views of the Gobi Desert.
Return to the lodge.
Day 5: GOBI DESERT
Breakfast and check-out at the lodge. Private transfer to the Gobi Desert camp. Accommodation for 1 night, with full board.
Arrival and camel ride through the high desert dunes, with an English-speaking guide.
Then, visit a nomadic family that lives in the desert to learn about their daily rituals, from the milking of animals to the artisanal production of milk derivatives.
Continuation of the day with a climb to the top of Duut Mankhan, the highest point of the Khongoryn Els dunes, providing panoramic views of the desert.
Finally, a walk through the Seruu Bulag region, on the sand dunes of Khongoryn Els, where a spring of fresh, crystalline water forms a unique contrast with the surrounding aridity.
Return to the camp.
DAY 6: GOBI DESERT
Breakfast and check-out at the lodge. Private transfer to the lodge in the Gobi Desert. Accommodation for 1 night, with full board.
Upon arrival, private half-day tour to the Flaming Cliffs of Bayanzag (Flaming Cliffs) accompanied by a paleontology expert from the Mongolian Academy of Sciences.
The experience takes place at some of the richest dinosaur fossiliferous sites in the Gobi Desert, where species such as Velociraptor were discovered among the reddish rock formations that characterize the landscape.
Return to the lodge.
DAY 7: GOBI DESERT/DALANZADGAD - ULAN BATOR
Breakfast and check-out at the lodge. Private transfer to Dalanzadgad airport for boarding a flight to Ulan Bator (Ulaanbaatar).
Arrival and private transfer to the hotel. Accommodation for 2 nights, with breakfast.
Optional activity suggestion (not included):
- Visit to the Chinggis Khaan Museum.
Day 8: ULAN BATOR
Breakfast at the hotel. Full-day private tour of Ulan Bator (Ulaanbaatar), with English-speaking guide.
Visit the Gandantegchinlen Monastery (Gandan Monastery), the city's main monastery, which survived the communist purges that resulted in the mass demolition of hundreds of monasteries and temples across the country, and the Migjid Janraisig Temple, which houses the monumental statue of Avalokiteshvara.
Then, visit the Ger district, where most of the city's population resides, to understand why Ulan Bator (Ulaanbaatar) is the “felt city” with its modern technologies and sustainable practices.
Finally, a cultural performance, whose music preserves the Mongolian cultural heritage through the melodies of Morin Khuur (horse-headed violin).
Before returning to the hotel, farewell dinner (without drinks) at the Il Fiore Restaurant, located on the top floor of the Eco Tower, with a panoramic view of Ulan Bator.
Return to the hotel.
Day 9: ULAN BATOR
Breakfast and check-out at the hotel. Private airport transfer.
