Flavors & Nature in Peru: Lima & Amazônia with Delfin

Discover Peru between flavor and jungle: from gastronomic Lima to Amazonian landscapes aboard the Delfin. A journey that connects culture, nature and tradition.
DAY 1: LIMA
Arrival in Lima and private transfer to the hotel. Accommodation for 3 nights, with breakfast.
In the evening, private transfer to the Huaca Pucllana restaurant for dinner (without drinks), which is located in the complex of a pyramid built with adobe by the ancient inhabitants of Lima over 1500 years ago. The restaurant features a rustic colonial-style design and offers a fusion of Peruvian cuisine.
DAY 2: LIMA
Breakfast at the hotel. Half-day private tour with a guide in Portuguese or Spanish (subject to availability and confirmation) to Lima's main attractions. The first visit is to Casa de Aliaga, a 1553 mansion considered a jewel of colonial and republican architecture. Its environments show us the styles that were in fashion in the 15th and 19th centuries in Lima.
Then, visit the São Francisco Church in Lima, which houses a valuable collection of old books and a network of underground catacombs. Passage through Lima's Main Square, with examples from the colonial era, in addition to the Lima Cathedral.
Visit the Pueblo Libre district, to visit the Larco Herrera Museum. Housed in an 18th century viceregal mansion that houses more than 5,000 years of pre-Columbian Peruvian history and has the best collection of cult gold and silver jewelry in the country.
Finally, transfer to Urban Kitchen for a participatory cooking class, led by a chef, with a demonstration of typical Peruvian dishes. After the activity, lunch prepared during class (without drinks) will be served, followed by dessert.
DAY 3: LIMA
Breakfast at the hotel and a half-day walk accompanied by a guide in Portuguese or Spanish (subject to availability and confirmation) in the Barranco district, considered to be the most romantic and bohemian district in Lima.
At the beginning of the last century, Barranco housed the summer residences of the wealthiest families, leaving a unique architectural legacy. With 20th-century mansions, art galleries, and vibrant nightlife, this district is one of the most charming in the capital.
Finally, go to Hotel B for a cocktail class, led by a bartender who presents the history of beverages and explains the ingredients used. Each cocktail is served with pairing, followed by appetizers at the hotel.
Return to the hotel.
DAY 4: LIMA/Iquitos -
Breakfast navigation and check-out at the hotel. Private transfer to Lima airport to board a flight (not included) to Iquitos.
Reception at the airport and shared transfer to Nauta, with snacks served along the way. At the port, the Delfin III is boarded and the suites are accommodated. As the boat travels down the Marañón River, the naturalist guide presents the itinerary in the observation lounge. Accommodation aboard the Delfin III for three nights, with full board.
At the end of the afternoon, the first skiff ride begins, with the possibility of spotting birds and animals on the banks of the river. At night, the forest reveals its nightlife with alligators, owls, and other species under starry skies.
DAY 5: navigation
Itinerary scheduled for the high water level season:
- Exploration of the flooded forest.
- Birdwatching and sloth watching in Las Palmas at dawn.
- Visit to the Amazon Natural Park, including hiking trails, learning about medicinal plants, and participating in a traditional ceremony with a shaman.
- Navigation along the Yanayacu River, with the possibility of activities such as kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming and possible sighting of pink dolphins, as well as fishing for piranhas.
- Night safari on the Pucate River to observe the nocturnal animals.
Itinerary planned for the low water season:
- Sailing in Las Palmas at dawn, for birdwatching such as macaws, toucans and local species.
- Visit to the Amazon Natural Park, including hiking trails, learning about medicinal plants, and participating in a traditional ceremony with a shaman.
- During the low water season, stop at the beaches of the Amazon;
- Navigation along the Yanayacu River, with the possibility of activities such as kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming and possible sighting of pink dolphins, as well as fishing for piranhas.
- Night safari along the Pucate River to observe the local fauna.
DAY 6: navigation
Itinerary scheduled for the high water level season:
- Walk through the Casual Fund Casual Background, which leads to the interior of the forest, showing colorful frogs, insects, medicinal plants and other details of life under the tree canopy, always accompanied by naturalist guides. During the tour, there is a visit to a local community, with the opportunity to learn about traditions, daily activities and the close relationship they have with the jungle.
- Navigation to the confluence of the rivers, where the dark waters of Ucayali meet the clear currents of the Marañón, forming the magnificent Amazon River.
- Onboard activities.
Itinerary planned for the low water season:
- Walk through the Casual Fund Casual Background, which leads to the interior of the forest, showing colorful frogs, insects, medicinal plants and other details of life under the tree canopy, always accompanied by naturalist guides.
- Visit a local community to learn about traditions, daily life and relationship with the forest.
- Navigation to the confluence of the rivers, where the dark waters of Ucayali meet the clear currents of the Marañón, forming the magnificent Amazon River.
DAY 7: navigation - IQUITOS/LIMA
Breakfast on board and disembarkation of the cruise ship and transfer to Iquitos airport along the route includes an interactive activity on the Melipona stingless bees and their essential role in the Amazon ecosystem and a stop to visit the Amazon Ornamental Fish Research Center, with observation of the aquatic life of the region, from the giant arapaima to colorful freshwater stingrays, ending the experience with local biodiversity.
From Iquitos airport, board a flight (not included) to Lima.
Arrival in Lima and private transfer to the hotel. Accommodation for 1 night, with breakfast.
DAY 8: LIMA
Breakfast and check-out at the hotel, private transfer to Lima airport.
