Peru First Impressions

Lima, Valle Sagrado, Machu Picchu, Cusco

An introduction to the best of Peru, exploring Lima, Cusco, and the Sacred Valley, with a visit to the mysterious Machu Picchu.

DAY 1: LIMA
Arrival at Lima airport and transfer to the hotel. Accommodation for 2 nights, with breakfast.

Lima is the capital of Peru and one of the largest cities in South America. The city combines tradition and modernity, with historic neighborhoods, museums, renowned gastronomic options and beautiful landscapes on the edge of the Pacific. Lima is also an important cultural, economic and gastronomic center of the region, offering various activities and points of interest for visitors.

Suggested optional activities (not included):

  • Tour at the Lacomar mall, in Miraflores;
  • Peruvian Chocolate and Coffee Experience, held at Hotel B;
  • Experience Art and Afternoon Tea Tour, held at Hotel B;
  • Dinner at the Astrid y Gastón restaurant, one of the most renowned and influential in Lima.



DAY 2: LIMA
After breakfast at the hotel, private half-day tour with a Spanish-speaking guide to the city's main attractions, such as the Plaza de Armas, the setting for the architecture of the Spanish Empire, the Lima Cathedral and the Archiepiscopal, Government and Municipal Palaces.

Then, visit the tourist neighborhoods of San Isidro and Miraflores, which offer a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean and the cliffs of the Costa Verde.

Return to the hotel.


DAY 3: LIMA/CUSCO - SACRED VALLEY
Breakfast, check-out at the hotel and transfer to Lima airport and departure to Cusco (flight not included).

Arrival in Cusco and private transfer to Valle Sagrado. Accommodation for 1 night, with breakfast.

Valle Sagrado is a region between Machu Picchu and Cusco, composed of small villages that are still very traditional, filled with archaeological sites, unique landscapes, mountains, historic fairs and villages that preserve much of the culture and tradition of their ancestors in everyday life.

Rest of the day free for independent activities.


DAY 4: SACRED VALLEY - PISAC - MACHU PICCHU
After breakfast, check-out and private transfer to Pisac, city in the Sacred Valley, where you can find the indigenous market with alpaca fabrics and handicrafts by artisans from nearby villages.

Visit to the archaeological site of Ollantaytambo, consisting of temples, terraces and urban sector. The place is divided into a religious zone and a residential area. It also functioned as an administrative and military center, as shown by the walls and towers. Its village is known as the “Living Inca People”, where the inhabitants have maintained practices and customs since the Inca period.

Free time for lunch at a local restaurant (no drinks).

Then, transfer to Ollantaytambo station to catch the train to Aguas Calientes and the rest of the day free for independent activities. Accommodation for 1 night, with half board.

In the evening, dinner at the hotel (without drinks).


DAY 5: MACHU PICCHU - CUSCO
Breakfast, check-out and trip combining bus, train and bus to visit Machu Picchu, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and one of the New Seven Wonders of the Modern World, Machu Picchu, which means “Old Mountain”.

Machu Picchu, a center of worship and astronomical observation, was the private refuge of the Inca Pachacumtec. Hidden by mountains and rainforest for 400 years, it was discovered in 1911 by the American explorer Hiram Bingham. The citadel consists of two large areas, one agricultural and the other urban, where the temples, squares and royal mausoleums built with exquisite perfection stand out.

Then stop for buffet lunch (without drinks) at the Sanctuary Lodge restaurant.

Private transfer to Cusco and the rest of the day free for independent activities. Accommodation for 2 nights, with breakfast.


DAY 6: CUSCO
After breakfast at the hotel, private full-day tour with a guide in Spanish to explore the main tourist attractions of Cusco, a city marked by the harmonious fusion between Inca heritage and colonial architecture.

Visit the Cusco Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral Basilica of the Virgin of the Assumption, and the Plaza Mayor, the historic heart of the city.

Then, visit the Santo Domingo Convent, built on the Inca temple of Coricancha, one of the essential sites dedicated to the cult of the sun.

Continuation of visits to the archaeological centers Qenqo, Puka Pukara and Tambomachay. The tour also includes a visit to the Sacsayhuamán Fortress, an impressive example of Inca military architecture.

Return to the hotel.


DAY 7: CUSCO - LIMA

Breakfast and check-out at the hotel. Private transfer to Lima airport. (flights not included).

  • Round trip ticket to Machu Picchu on the Vistadome train (Peru Rail). Luggage allowed: bag or backpack weighing 5 kg and 157 cm (height + length + width);
  • Accommodation for 2 nights in Lima, with breakfast;
