Peru in the Belmond Hotel Style

Lima, Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, Cusco

Explore Peru's rich history and culture by staying at the beautiful Belmond Hotels Network.

DAY 1: LIMA
Arrival in Lima, reception and transfer from the airport to the hotel. Accommodation for 2 nights with breakfast.

Lima, the capital of Peru, is a dynamic, vibrant, culturally rich city known for its Spanish colonial architecture.

DAY 2: LIMA
After breakfast at the hotel, private full-day tour of the main streets, avenues and squares of the city of Lima, starting with the Plaza de Armas and the examples of the colonial era. Visit the Government Palace, the Lima Cathedral and the City Hall, examples of architectural opulence.

Then visit Casa Aliaga, considered a jewel of colonial and republican architecture. With more than 480 years of history, the house belongs to the same family, which still lives in an annex of the residence for 16 generations and its environments reflect the styles that were fashionable in the 15th and 15th centuries in Lima.

Later, visit the Larco Museum in the Pueblo Libre neighborhood, a 16th century viceregal mansion that houses more than 3,000 years of pre-Columbian Peruvian history that currently has the best collection of cult gold and silver jewelry.

In the afternoon, visit the bohemian neighborhood of Barranco, a place inhabited by countless artists, photographers, and writers. Visit the Bridge of Sighs, witness to countless past and current novels and a source of inspiration for the composer Chabuca Granda.

DAY 3: LIMA/CUSCO - SACRED VALLEY
Breakfast and check-out at the hotel. Private transfer to Lima airport for boarding a flight (not included) to Cusco. Arrival in Cusco and a trip of about 1 hour and 40 minutes to the Sacred Valley. Accommodation for 2 nights, with breakfast.

Upon arrival at the hotel, picnic-style lunch in the property's gardens overlooking the Urubamba River.

Free time to rest, adapt to the altitude and take advantage of the hotel's facilities.

DAY 4: SACRED VALLEY
After breakfast, private tour of the Sacred Valley. Visit the picturesque Andean communities and visit the archaeological center of Moray. Moray was used as an agricultural laboratory, with a system of circular terraces that descend 150 meters. A testimony to the wisdom of the Andean tribes that built masterpieces in harmony with nature.

Continuation to the Salinas de Maras. Explored since the time of the Incas, this salt mine surprises with its white steps that descend abruptly down the green slopes.

After lunch, visit Ollantaytambo, one of the last villages in the Inca culture, which was carefully guarded by a fortress. The large archaeological complex in the area was once an inn or city of rest and lodging for royal entourages that traveled long distances. The architectural ruins still have walls and clods that protected it from possible invasions.

DAY 5: SACRED VALLEY - MACHU PICCHU
Breakfast and check-out at the hotel. Train ride to Aguas Calientes. From there, transfer by bus to the entrance door of the Machu Picchu Citadel, discovered by Hiram Bingham in 1911 and considered one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The architectural beauty, natural landscape and enigmatic energy of the citadel enchant visitors. The guided tour follows in the footsteps of the ancient Incas.

Lunch at the Tampu restaurant at the Belmond Sanctuary Lodge hotel and accommodation in Machu Picchu for 1 night, with half board (breakfast and dinner, without drinks).

DAY 6: MACHU PICCHU - CUSCO

DAY 7: CUSCO
Breakfast at the hotel. Half-day private tour of the main tourist spots around the city of Cusco, a city that combines Inca and colonial architecture.

The tour begins at the Sacsayhuamán Fortress, a colossal building made of enormous stones sculpted and joined with precision, which is an excellent example of Inca military architecture, one of the largest buildings in Tahuantinsuya. Visit the Koricancha Temple (golden enclosure), dedicated to the god Inti (sun) who, according to reports, had walls covered with gold.

Continuation is the church of San Blas, built in 1563 on top of an Inca sanctuary. With a simple structure, it is adorned with a beautiful pulpit carved from a single piece of wood, representing one of the most surprising works of artistic carpentry in the Spanish style done by indigenous hands.

Then, visit the Plaza de Armas, where the Iglesia De La Compania De Jesus is located, going to the Cathedral and its beautiful atriums and priceless paintings from the 15th and 15th century Cusco School.
