The Great Migration in Tanzania

Day 1: ARUSHA
Arrival in Arusha, meeting with the representative and private transfer to the hotel. Accommodation for 1 night, with breakfast.

Arusha, in northern Tanzania, is known for its markets, museums, and its proximity to national parks. The city serves as a starting point for safaris and hikes and is a logistics and administrative center for the region.


Day 2: ARUSHA - TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast and check-out, private transfer to Tarangire National Park for accommodation for 1 night, with full board.

Lunch at the lodge and afternoon safari, after the return, dinner at the lodge.

The Tarangire National Park, in the Manyara region, is named after the river that crosses it. The river provides fresh water for fauna during the dry season, attracting animals during this period. Elephants, wildebeests, zebras, buffaloes, impalas, gazelles, warthogs, and elands move freely, followed by predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs. Antelopes such as oryx and gerenuk appear regularly. Plains, river valleys, pastures, and baobab trees make up the terrain. It houses one of the largest concentrations of fauna in Tanzania, with herds of elephants.


DAY 3: TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK - MTO-WA MBU - SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
Early in the morning, safari in Tarangire National Park, return to the lodge for breakfast and check out.

Private transfer to the city of Mto-Wa-MBU for cultural sightseeing and exploration of local stores.

In the afternoon, land transfer to the central Serengeti National Park region and accommodation for 1 night, with full board.

The Serengeti, together with the Masai Mara in Kenya, forms one of the best-known wildlife parks in Africa. The region is marked by open plains with acacias, where it is possible to observe the annual migration of wildebeest, the largest land displacement of mammals on the planet, in addition to lions, elephants, giraffes, gazelles, and elands.


4th day to 6th day: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK - NDUTU OR MARA RIVER
Departure from the camp in the central region of the Serengeti National Park, to the mobile camp, located in the Ndutu region or near the Mara River, depending on the time of year, following the Great Migration:

• Ndutu (February to March - Parrot Season): time when wildebeest herds gather to give birth on the southern Serengeti plains.
• Kogatende/Rio Mara (July to October - Crossing Season): wildebeests move north and face the river crossing, in a unique spectacle of the Great Migration.
  

Accommodation for 3 nights with full board and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages selected by the camp.

The mobile camp meets the basic needs of guests: comfortable beds, hot showers, coffee, cold drinks, meals prepared on an open fire, and a common area for dining and socializing. The place is solar-powered, has a charging station and prioritizes sustainability.

Meals also include vegetarian or vegan options. Dinner usually consists of roasted meat, carbohydrates and vegetables or salad, accompanied by hot soup. Breakfast is quick and early to maximize safari time, and lunch varies depending on the day's sightings.

Activities organized and offered in Ndutu and Mara River:

• Safaris in a 4x4 vehicle, to observe the Great Migration of wildebeests, zebras and antelopes.
• Guided hikes for wildlife observation;
• Guided tour of the local community, with learning about Maasai traditions and culture.

DAY 7: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK/ARUSHA - NGARE NANYUKI
Early in the morning, safari and breakfast at the camp. Departure for transfer to the Serengeti airstrip, for boarding a domestic flight to Arusha, followed by land transfer to Ngare Nanyuki. Accommodation for 1 night, with full board.

Arrival at the lodge and free time for rest, followed by a safari activity in a 4x4 vehicle in the Western Kilimanjaro region, located north of Mount Meru, in northeastern Tanzania.

Preserved, underexplored and often overshadowed by the search for the peak, the West Kilimanjaro region offers diverse nature and cultural experiences. Large areas of savanna, interspersed with acacia groves and native vegetation, are home to large herds of elephants, as well as wildebeests, buffaloes, gerenuks, wild boars, zebras, giraffes, smaller kudus, and discrete predators, such as cheetahs, leopards, lions, hyenas, and jackals. The region also has a great diversity of birds, including tawny eagles and Masai ostriches.


DAY 8: NGARE NANYUKI - Arusha
Breakfast and check-out at the hotel. Private transfer to Arusha airport.
