Destination Jordan

Learn more about Jordan, a Hashemite kingdom, a bridge between the sea and the desert, between the West and the East, and a place of mesmerizing beauty and contrasts.

Discover Jordan

Jordan has become a modern nation that has experienced remarkably stable times and economic growth in recent decades. The images of the ancient Nabataean city of Petra, carved into the rock over a thousand years ago, have long been people's first impression of Jordan.

Jordan has a lot to offer the modern traveler. The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, a bridge between the sea and the desert, between the West and the East, is a place of mesmerizing beauty and contrasts. From the fertile and ever-changing Jordan Valley to the vast and silent remote desert canyons, visitors can explore splendid desert castles, contemplate in amazement the astonishing vastness of Wadi Rum, or bathe in the waters of the Red Sea. For adventure lovers, there's horseback riding, 4X4 safaris, rock climbing, and hiking. There's nothing in this world that looks like Jordan.

Touristic spots

Amman

The capital of Jordan is a unique mix of the old and the new. This beautiful city, located in a hilly area between the desert and the Jordan Valley, where almost half of the entire population of Jordan lives, is a maximum of four hours from anywhere in the country and has a lively nightlife.

Jerash

The ancient city of Jerash, which is among the favorite places to visit in Jordan, has stories that go back more than 6,500 years. It is considered one of the best preserved Roman cities in the world, which for centuries was hidden in the sand. Jerash is a fine example of grand provincial and formal Roman urbanism, which is found throughout the Middle East, with colonnaded and paved streets, towering hilltop temples, beautiful theaters, large public squares and squares, public baths, fountains, and city walls ribbed by towers and doors.

Madaba

30 km from Amman, known for its spectacular Byzantine and Umayyad mosaics, Madaba is where we can find the famous Mosaic Map of Jerusalem and the Holy Land. With two million brightly colored pieces made from local stone, it illustrates the hills, valleys, villages, and cities all the way to the Nile Delta.

Petra

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is undoubtedly a mandatory stop for visitors. A spectacular city carved into the rocks by the Nabataeans, filled with tombs, temples, and shrines.

Mount Nebo

According to Jewish Christian tradition, Moses was buried on Mount Nebo and is considered to be the holiest site in Jordan.

Wadi Rum

The largest landscape in the Jordanian desert is a place practically untouched by humans. With a moonscape of ancient valleys and sandstone mountains, Wadi Rum is also home to several tribes that live in camps scattered there. Great place for those who like mountaineering or simply opt for long hikes.

The Dead Sea and Jordan Valley

The Jordan Valley has a beautiful and dramatic landscape that, next to the Dead Sea, is located 400 meters above sea level. This vast stretch of water is the lowest location in relation to the Earth's surface and several rivers flow into it, including the Jordan River. Once the waters reach the Dead Sea, they are trapped with soil around them and cannot escape, so they evaporate, leaving behind a dense and rich mixture of salts and minerals that provide industry, agriculture and medicine with some of their best products.

Aqaba

Aqaba's biggest attraction is the Red Sea itself, which offers immersions in its deep waters with coral reefs and species such as fungia, montipora and rare archelia, found at great depths.
