Juma Amazon Lodge
Autazes

The Juma Amazon Lodge offers a 4-day and 3-night package, designed to fully harmonize with the natural environment. Check it out!
Nestled in the heart of the Amazon Rainforest, in a remote and untouched area, the Juma Amazon Lodge is a comfortable haven, carefully designed to integrate seamlessly with the natural environment.
The Juma Amazon Lodge offers a unique experience with just 20 bungalows, harmoniously inserted in the dense Amazon Rainforest. Built on stilts on dry land, the bungalows are located in the treetops, adapting to seasonal variations in river levels, which can rise up to 15 meters during floods.
Day 1: Manaus - autazes
Arrival in Manaus, reception and transfer to the hotel lasting approximately 3 hours and divided into three sections as follows:
- The first stretch of about an hour includes a boat ride from Porto Ceasa in Manaus to Vila do Careiro by fast boat. During this stretch, the boat passes through the Encontro das Águas on the way out and the Pirarucu Floating on the way back.
- The second stretch is overland, from Vila do Careiro to Rio Maçarico via Rodovia BR 319 Manaus - Porto Velho by minibus. Depending on the season, stop along the way to observe the royal victories.
- The third stretch is carried out by fast boat, lasting approximately 1 hour, from the Maçarico River to the Juma Amazon Lodge. First, more intimate contact with the forest, through holes and creeks.
Accommodation for 3 nights at Juma Amazon Lodge, with full board (excluding drinks).
On this day, in the afternoon, canoe and paddle ride through the creeks and igapots. After dinner, tour to focus on alligators, frogs and birds.
Juma Amazon Lodge Accommodations:
- Forest View Bungalows: The forest view bungalows are located between the reception and the restaurant. Their location makes it easier for the elderly and people with mobility difficulties to travel. And because they are close to each other, they are an excellent option for families with young children.
- River View Bungalows: The bungalows are located in the treetops up to 15 meters from the river during the dry period and are located in an exclusive area of the hotel, offering total privacy. They were designed to fully integrate with the forest, staying distant from each other. Among them there is a larger bungalow, which can accommodate up to four people.
- Panoramic Bungalow: it is the largest bungalow in the lodge. Located in the treetop, with 32 m² of area, it is equipped with a king-size bed and has a panoramic balcony with two hammocks and a view of the Juma River.
- Juma bungalow: the lodge's newest accommodation.
2nd and 3rd DAY: autazen
Days to take advantage of the activities offered and organized by the lodge. The tours are organized through itineraries, which are subject to change depending on weather conditions.
- Water Encounter: We will experience the incredible phenomenon of the Encounter of the Waters of the Negro and Solimões rivers, on the way to Juma. Its waters flow side by side for a long stretch without mixing. It is possible to feel the temperature difference between the two rivers.
- Rowing Canoe Ride: This tour is an excellent way to discover the flooded forest, paddling canoe through creeks (streams) and igapo (flooded forest), especially visible during the period when the rivers are flooded. Along the way, it is common to hear the mysterious sounds of the forest.
- Visit the Observation Tower: The Juma region can be seen from above through a 31-meter observation tower. In addition to the breathtaking view, the tour allows you to learn more about the sustainable construction of the hotel, especially the photovoltaic solar plant.
- Night Tour: At night, we embark to observe alligators, frogs, and birds. The guide uses only one flashlight to illuminate the animals in the darkness of the Amazon, making the tour even more exciting. The sounds of the forest, the starry sky and the mystery of the night make the experience unforgettable.
- Dawn on the Juma River: At dawn, we contemplate the color changes in the Amazonian sky to the sound of birdsong. Binoculars are available to enhance the observation of local fauna.
- Forest Hike: While hiking trails in the forest near the hotel, the guide shares knowledge about jungle survival, pointing out edible, medicinal and other useful plants, in addition to highlighting the signs left by the animals.
- Piranhas Fishing: We boarded a boat to catch the famous piranha and other fish from the Amazon region. Fishing is relatively easy and fun, as the fish are concentrated in the igapas and the quieter reaches of the river.
- Lecture: One of our guides will give an informative lecture, sharing their own history (our guides are natives) and knowledge about the customs and legends of the riverside inhabitants. He will also present some of the fauna and flora of the region, using a professional microscope that makes the lecture even more interactive and engaging.
- Barbecue hike: After a walk through the forest (a slightly longer route, but with fewer stops), we will pause at the “Tapiri” (indigenous hut) for a barbecue with typical regional dishes, especially grilled fish. Then we offer hammocks for rest.
- Visit to the House of a Caboclo: We will visit the house of a caboclo, also known as a riverboy, who will share his knowledge about medicinal plants and demonstrate, among other things, how cassava flour is made, the region's main food and an important part of the local economy.
