Day 1: TEFÉ - UARINI - UAKARI LODGE
Arrival at Tefé Regional Airport, reception and transfer to the port of Lake Tefé, from where the fast boat departs for a trip of approximately one hour.
The Uakari Lodge is a floating inn located in the heart of the Mamirauá Sustainable Development Reserve, in the Brazilian Amazon, providing an experience of immersion in the forest and local culture. Built on wooden platforms, the lodge is integrated into the landscape of rivers and creeks, offering views of wildlife and seasonal variations in water levels. The route itself constitutes a complete experience. Along the way, it is possible to observe the immensity of the Solimões River and, when entering the Mamirauá Reserve, it is possible to spot riverside communities with houses on stilts, in addition to a rich diversity of fauna, including more than 350 species of birds, mammals and aquatic animals, such as alligators, porpoises and the pirarucu, the largest fish in the Amazon waters.
Upon arrival at the floating inn, there is a reception by the local manager, naturalist guide and staff. Then, information is provided about the program and safety procedures, checked in and a snack prepared with fresh, locally sourced food provided by the communities is served.
In the middle of the afternoon, the first activity begins: an interpretive boat ride through Apará Paraná, along the main channel and observing the fauna and flora of the region. Return for dinner. After the meal, a lecture is given on the history of the Mamirauá Sustainable Development Reserve and the projects developed by the Mamirauá Institute, a research unit funded and supervised by the Brazilian Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation.
Day 2: UARINI- UAKARI LODGE
Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, there is a paddling canoe ride through the flooded forests, igapots, one of the activities most appreciated by guests. Along the way, it is possible to experience the largest flooded forest reserve in the world and observe how life adapts to extreme seasonal floods.
The return takes place in time for lunch, followed by a rest in the hammocks on the porch, when a snack is served and the afternoon program begins.
In the middle of the afternoon, a boat trip lasting approximately three hours begins. During the tour, you can observe the richness and beauty of the local flora and fauna, with opportunities for photographic recording. The itinerary includes a visit to an area where it is possible to spot Amazonian dolphins. The return takes place in time for dinner. After the meal, a night tour will take place, providing the observation of the nocturnal fauna of the forest and lakes, in addition to the reflection of the moon on the waters.
Day 3: UARINI- UAKARI LODGE
Breakfast at the hotel and then the departure will take place on a boat or trail, offering new opportunities to capture images from different perspectives, in search of the best lighting and the ideal angle for photography. During the day, one more activity takes place, such as a boat trip or a trail, offering new opportunities for observing the landscape and recording photographs from different perspectives and lighting conditions.
In the middle of the afternoon, the boat tour of Lake Mamirauá begins, the longest excursion in the reserve. Along the way, local guides share information about the region's history and culture. Upon reaching the lake, a snack will be served while enjoying the sunset, known for the spectacle of colors. On the return, floodlights are used to observe nocturnal animals, including black alligators, which can reach up to four meters in length.
Day 4: UARINI- UAKARI LODGE
Early breakfast, followed by a visit to a local riverside community. The community guide conducts the activity, presenting daily life on the banks of the river, in floodplain forest. The water level can vary up to 12 meters throughout the year, requiring great adaptation from residents. The return to the inn takes place in time for lunch, followed by free time for rest, interaction with residents, reading at the library or organization, and time for photos.
In the middle of the afternoon, an opportunity for a paddling canoe ride. During the dry season, the route follows the main channel, with observation of alligators and porpoises. During the flood season, the activity allows you to explore the flooded forest, offering a different experience. The silence of the canoe gliding through the waters is broken only by the howls of guardrails, birdsong, or the diving of aquatic animals.
After dinner, biologists who carry out research in the region present information about the local fauna, the results of their work, and the importance of research for the development of conservation strategies in the Mamirauá Reserve.
Day 5: UARINI- UAKARI LODGE - TEFÉ
On the last day at Pousada Uakari, a last boat ride takes place after breakfast.
Before departure, there is time reserved for photos and goodbyes with the team. In the middle of the morning, departure towards Tefé, bound for the airport.
