Uarini

Discover the Amazônia in its most authentic form within the Mamirauá Sustainable Development Reserve. This exclusive Uakari Lodge package combines sustainable overwater lodging with activities that reveal the region's unique biodiversity.
Day 1: TEFÉ - UARINI - UAKARI LODGE
Arrival at Tefé Regional Airport, reception and transfer to the hotel. After check-in and a snack, the exploration of Paraná do Apara, a region rich in avifauna, begins on board a small motor boat. In this first outing, it is already possible to observe species such as the cacao potato (Amazona festiva), the curica (Graydidascalus brachyurus) and the flying toucan (Ramphastos tucanus), as well as other animals, such as monkeys and alligators.
Upon returning to the lodge, together with the ecotourism advisors, it will be possible to define the schedule for the coming days according to the interests of each participant. The birdwatching program includes private boats, specialized guides, and flexible breakfast and lunch times.
2nd day: UARINI - UAKARI LODGE
Breakfast can be served before dawn, followed by a trail in search of the floodplain's most emblematic birds, such as the uru (Capito aurovirens) and the white-barbed arirambda (Galbula tombacea). Along the way, it is also possible to encounter sloths (Bradypus variegatus), guaribas (Alouatta juara) and uacaris (Cacajao calvus calvus).
In the afternoon, a new trail is carried out, providing the observation of species such as the great arapaçu (Nasica longirostris), the rusty arapaçu (Dendroplex kienerii) and, with luck, the discreet zig-zag sucker (Zebrilus undulatus). During the flood period, the trails are replaced by rowing canoe rides, which allow greater proximity to the treetops and quieter movements through the forest.
After dinner, the program includes a boat trip or a night walk to observe birds and nocturnal animals, with a focus on snakes and insects.
Day 3: UARINI - UAKARI LODGE In
the morning, one more of the 14 trails available in the floodplain will be explored. Among beach habitats, tall sandbank or Chavascal, species such as the mutum-fava (Pauxi tuberosa), the red-capped boy (Bucco macrodactylus), the blue hawk (Buteogallus schistaceus), the lead anthill (Myrmelastes hyperythrus), and others can be seen.
In the afternoon, the destination is Mamirauá Lake. On the way to its headwaters, it is common to find uacaris (Cacajao calvus calvus), açu alligators (Melanosuchus niger), as well as birds such as alencornes (Anhima cornuta), gypsies (Opisthocomus hoazin), starry parakeets (Brotogeris sanctithomae) and dotted-breasted woodpeckers (Colaptes punctigula). The landscape at the head of the lake offers a striking sunset, reflected in the waters in shades of yellow, red and pink.
The return takes place already at night, with new opportunities to spot nocturnal birds, such as the mothers of the moon (Nyctibius grandis), and to perform the traditional and impressive focus of alligators.
Day 4: UARINI - UAKARI LODGE
The morning will be dedicated to birdwatching on the banks of the Solimões and Japurá rivers, an exclusive habitat of species such as the white-breasted white-breasted squirrel (Cranioleuca vulpecula) and the Canarian John (Certhiaxis mustelinus). In the grassy areas of the borders, you can also find the yellow papinus (Piprites chloris), the brown-breasted seahorse (Sporophila castaneiventris), as well as curiós (Sporophila angolensis) and northern stars (Sporophila bouvronides).
In the afternoon, the program includes the exploration of a new trail, carried out on foot or by canoe through the igapó.
