Discover Egypt on a group itinerary that combines the great Pyramids, the charm of the Nile, and the rich history of Alexandria.
Day 1: CAIRO
Arrival in Cairo, assistance in Spanish and shared transfer to the hotel. Accommodation for 1 night, with breakfast.
Capital of Egypt, Cairo is one of the largest metropolises in the Middle East and combines ancient history, Islamic architecture, traditional markets and intense urban life on the banks of the Nile River. The city is renowned for its important archaeological sites, museums, and its proximity to the famous pyramids of Giza.
DAY 2: CAIRO/Aswan
Breakfast and check-out at the hotel. Shared transfer to Cairo airport for boarding a flight to Aswan. Disembark and transfer to the port for boarding a cruise along the Nile River. Accommodation for 3 nights, with full board.
Half-day city tour with a guide in Spanish or Portuguese (subject to availability). Start at the Aswan High Dam, an important engineering project responsible for controlling the Nile floods, generating energy and agricultural irrigation in Egypt.
Then, visit the Unfinished Obelisk, located in the northern region of the old Aswan quarries, considered to be the largest known ancient obelisk.
Lunch on board and free afternoon for independent activities. In the evening, dinner on board.
DAY 3: ASWAN - KOM OMBO - EDFU
Breakfast on board and free morning for independent activities.
In the afternoon, visit the Kom Ombo Temple, dedicated to the gods Sabek and Horus, famous for its two entrances and crocodile reliefs.
Return to the cruise and sail to Edfu. Lunch and dinner on board Optional activity
suggestion (not included):
- Visit Abu Simbel (by land or air), located 280 km south of Aswan. Classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, it is a place that is impressive for its grandeur and its importance in the history of Egypt.
DAY 4: EDFU - LUXOR
Breakfast on board and shared tour with a guide in Spanish or Portuguese (subject to availability) to the Temple of Horus, the second largest temple in Egypt, famous for its preserved hieroglyphics that reveal details about the cult of Horus.
Lunch (without drinks) on board and sailing to Luxor.
Continuing the Luxor Temple, built largely by Amenhotep III and Ramses II, the temple served as a setting for rituals that were performed to reconcile the human aspect of the ruler with his divine function.
Finally, visit the Karnak Temple, founded in 1928 BC as a small sanctuary dedicated to Amon. The complex, built over 1,300 years, consists of three main temples (Mut, Monthu and Amun), in addition to smaller temples and several external structures, surrounded by large brick walls.
Return to the boat and dinner (without drinks) on board.
DAY 5: LUXOR/CAIRO
Breakfast on board and disembarkation. At the indicated time, shared transfer to the airport to board a flight to Cairo.
Arrival, shared transfer to the hotel and accommodation for 3 nights, with breakfast.
Optional activity suggestion (not included):
- Visit to the Valley of the Kings, an old cemetery where many of the New Empire's rulers were buried;
- Visit to the Colossi of Memnon, two gigantic statues of Amenhotep II;
- Visit the Temple of Queen Hatshpsut, also known as “Deir el Bahri”, dedicated to Amun-Ra, the sun god.
DAY 6: CAIRO
After breakfast at the hotel, guided tour in Spanish or Portuguese (subject to availability and confirmation) to one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the Pyramids of Giza. The complex has three pyramids of the pharaohs: Cheops, Chephren, and Mycerinus. The main pyramid is that of Cheops, as its chambers and internal tombs are open to visitors. Built with more than 2 million stones, some weighing approximately 2 tons, the dimensions of the pyramids impress and enchant.
Not far from the pyramids is the Great Sphinx of Giza (2,620 BC), carved from natural yellowish limestone and measuring 20 meters high and 60 meters long, combining the head of a pharaoh with the body of a lion.
Then visit the Papyrus Institute to see how the ancient Egyptians made papyrus.
Return to the hotel.
DAY 7: CAIRO - Alexandria - Cairo
Breakfast at the hotel. Full day tour of Alexandria, with a guide in Spanish or Portuguese (subject to availability and confirmation), with lunch at a local restaurant (excluding drinks).
Alexandria, Egypt, was founded by Alexander the Great and has become one of the main historical and cultural centers of the Mediterranean. The city was home to the Alexandria Library and the Lighthouse, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. With a strong Greek, Roman and Egyptian heritage, it is an essential destination for those seeking history, archeology and ancient civilizations.
Visit the New Alexandria Library, one of the largest libraries in the world, built in honor of the Old Alexandria Library.
Then, visit the Pompey Pillar, erected in honor of the emperor Diocletian and the Catatumbs of Kom El Shakafa, an important archaeological site in Alexandria that reveals the fusion between Egyptian, Greek and Roman cultures, with burial chambers and more than 300 mummies.
DAY 8: CAIRO
Breakfast, check-out at the hotel and transfer to Cairo airport.
