Discover Spain through an 8-day itinerary, with gastronomic experiences, tastings and landscapes, from Santander to Bilbao.
DAY 1: SANTANDER
Arrival in Santander and private transfer to the hotel. Accommodation for 1 night, with breakfast.
Half-day private tour, with a guide in Spanish, through the main points of Santander, from the Palace of La Magdalena to the lively Plaza Porticada.
In the evening, dinner (without drinks) at a local restaurant on the edge of the Port of Santander.
DAY 2: SANTANDER - CANGAS DE ONÍS
Breakfast and check-out at the hotel. Trip to Cangas de Onís (about 1h30), with a private full-day tour, with a guide in Spanish, to the villages of northern Spain.
San Vicente de la Barquera, picturesque coastal town famous for its medieval atmosphere and landscapes between beaches, estuaries and the Picos de Europa. Santillana del Mar, with its well-preserved historic complex, including admission to the Altamira National Museum and Research Center, with exhibitions of ancient rock paintings. Comillas, renowned for its stone streets, modernist buildings and monuments such as Gaudí's “El Capricho” (admission included), the Sobrellano Palace and the Pontifical University.
Arrival in Cangas de Onís and accommodation for 2 nights, with breakfast.
DAY 3: CANGAS DE ONÍS
Breakfast at the hotel and private full-day tour of the Picos de Europa National Park, with a guide in Spanish.
The Picos de Europa National Park is located in the provinces of Asturias, Cantabria and León, integrating the Atlantic ecosystem and housing extensive oak and beech forests. The place is a refuge for several emblematic species of Iberian fauna, such as the brown bear and the Iberian wolf. The tour includes a ticket for the cable car (subject to weather conditions).
DAY 4: CANGAS DE ONÍS - SAN SEBASTIÁN
Breakfast and check-out at the hotel. Private transfer to San Sebastián (about a 3h30 trip). Accommodation for 2 nights, with breakfast.
Upon arrival, private half-day gastronomic tour with a guide in Spanish, exploring the historic center located between the sea and the Urumea River, the marina and the fishing district. The experience includes tasting at selected bars, with three drinks and three pintxos (traditional Basque snacks served at bar counters).
DAY 5: SAN SEBASTIÁN
Breakfast at the hotel. Half-day private tour, with guide in Spanish, in the rural area of San Sebastián.
Visit to a local farm to follow the entire cheese production process, from cow milking to aging. The experience offers interaction with the owners and learning about Basque culture and its strong connection with the countryside. It includes a home-made lunch with local ingredients, plus a tasting of Basque cheeses.
DAY 6: SAN SEBASTIÁN - BILBAO
Breakfast and check-out at the hotel. Travel of about 1h20 to Bilbao, along the Flysch Route.
Stop in Getaria for a half-day tour, with a guide in Spanish. It is located 30km west of San Sebastián and is a village that has evolved from its origins as a fishing village to become a leading gastronomic and cultural destination.
Arrival in Bilbao and accommodation for 2 nights with breakfast.
DAY 7: BILBAO
Breakfast at the hotel. Private full-day tour, with guide in Spanish, through the main tourist attractions of Bilbao.
Passage through the Hanging Bridge (Puente de Vizcaya) and Las Arenas beach. Visit the historic center, also known as Siete Calles, where you can come across emblematic buildings such as the Cathedral of Santiago, Plaza Nueva, San Antón Church and Mercado de La Ribera.
Free time for lunch at the market. Then, visit the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, with a contemporary art collection, featuring sculptures by Jeff Koons and Louise Bourgeois.
DAY 8: BILBAO
After breakfast and check-out at the hotel, private transfer to the airport.
