Travel on the Costa Verde Express train and discover cities in northern Spain such as Bilbao, Santander, Llanes, Oviedo, Luarca, Viveiro, and Santiago de Compostela.
DAY 1 (SUNDAY): BILBAO - SANTANDER
Self-presentation at Bilbao La Concordia station at 10am to board the train. Accommodation for 5 nights, with full board.
Regular tour of Bilbao, located in the heart of the Basque Country, renowned for its vibrant cultural scene, including guided visit to the renowned Guggenheim Museum Bilbao.
Then, lunch (without drinks) on board as the train departs towards Santander, famous for its stunning coastline and elegant gardens.
Arrival and tour of the main points of the city. Dinner (without drinks) on board.
DAY 2 (MONDAY): SANTANDER - LLanes
Breakfast on board and continuation of the trip to Cabezón de la Sal, a small city surrounded by lush nature, is known for its rural charm and Cantabrian cultural traditions.
Regular tour to Santillana del Mar, voted one of the most beautiful villages in Spain, which preserves cobblestone streets and well-preserved medieval buildings. It includes a visit to the Neo-Cueva de Altamira, a faithful replica of the original cave. In the Neo-Cueva, you can admire the prehistoric cave paintings that enshrined Altamira as the “Sistine Chapel of Paleolithic art”.
Then, lunch (without drinks) on board as the train departs towards Llanes, a city that offers picturesque beaches, historic walls, and spectacular views of the Asturian coast and nearby mountains.
Dinner (without drinks) on board.
DAY 3 (TUESDAY): LLanes - OVIEDO
After breakfast, transfer by bus to Cangas de Onís, including a visit to the Covadonga Sanctuary, an important pilgrimage site and symbol of Spanish history, and Lake Enol, located in the mountains of the Picos de Europa.
Then return to the train for the route to Oviedo, with its charming historic center, pre-Romanesque churches and a refined gastronomic scene.
Lunch (without drinks) on board, arrival and regular tour of Oviedo.
Dinner (without drinks) and overnight stay on board.
DAY 4 (WEDNESDAY): OVIEDO - LUARCA
Breakfast and regular tour to Gijón, a lively coastal city in Asturias that combines urban beaches, bustling cultural life and a charming historic maritime center.
Stop for lunch (without drinks) at a local restaurant.
Then continue the train ride to Luarca, which stands out for its fishing port, colorful houses and welcoming atmosphere.
Dinner (without drinks) and overnight stay on board.
DAY 5 (THURSDAY): LUARCA - VIVEIRO
Breakfast on board and continuation of the trip to Ribadeo.
Regular tour along the Lugo coast, including the iconic Playa de las Catedrales, famous for its arches and cliffs sculpted by the sea, revealed during low tide. Then, tour Ribadeo, a Galician city on the edge of the Atlantic and gateway to natural beaches and historic buildings.
During the tour, stop for lunch (without drinks) at a local restaurant.
Continuation of the train trip to Viveiro, a city that combines quiet beaches, medieval walls and green landscapes, making it one of the most enchanting corners in Galicia.
Dinner (without drinks) and overnight stay on board.
DAY 6 (FRIDAY): VIVEIRO - SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA
Breakfast on board. The train continues its journey to Ferrol, then a bus ride to Santiago de Compostela, famous for its imposing cathedral, stone streets and vibrant pilgrimage atmosphere.
Stop for lunch (without drinks) at the Parador Reyes Catolicos, a former hospital converted into a luxury hotel.
THIS ITINERARY INCLUDES:
- Accommodation for 5 nights on the Costa Verde Express train, with full board;
- Regular bus transfer between Ferrol/ Santiago de Compostela train station;
- Regular tours with a guide in Spanish, according to the itinerary;
