DAY 1: BELÉM
Arrival at Belém airport, reception by the local representative and private transfer to the hotel. Accommodation for 2 nights, with breakfast.
Belém is the capital of the state of Pará, located in the northern region of Brazil. Founded in 1616, the city is an entry point to the Amazônia and has a rich cultural and historical heritage. Among its attractions, the Ver-o-Peso Market is one of the most famous outdoor markets in Latin America, offering a variety of local products, such as herbs, exotic fruits, and handicrafts. The Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi is an important cultural landmark, while its location close to rivers and Amazon forests make Belém a fascinating destination for those who wish to explore the region's biodiversity.
Note: It is recommended to book arrival flights at the earliest available time.
DAY 2: BELÉM
After breakfast at the hotel, meeting with the local representative for a full-day tour of Belém.
Visit to the Ver-o-Peso Market, filled with products from the Amazon, forming a mosaic of unique colors, aromas and flavors. Then, walk through the Old City, which houses one of the richest historical and architectural ensembles in Brazil. Visit places such as the Cathedral of the Cathedral, the Castle Fort and the Republic Square, where the Theatro da Paz is located, a legacy of the rubber cycle.
Stop for lunch (not included).
In the afternoon, visit the Emílio Goeldi Paraense Museum Zoobotanic Park, which houses several native plant species and a rich fauna, including the açu alligator and the spider mite. Continuation of the tour to Mangal das Garças, an ecological park that highlights the different macroregions of the Amazon flora, with the opportunity to visit the Belém Lighthouse.
Free time in Belém, with the possibility of tasting tacacá, a traditional Amazonian soup. Return to the hotel.
DAY 3: BELÉM - MARAJÓ ISLAND
Breakfast and check-out. Departure towards the Belém waterway terminal or the Icoaraci Ferry Port.
Regular ferry transfer to Ilha do Marajó (about 3 hours). Navigation through the Amazon River estuary, crossing the insular region of Belém and Marajó Bay, until arrival in Soure.
After disembarkation, continue to Vila e Praia do Céu, a small fishing community. Lunch (without drinks) at the community restaurant and free time for a beach bath and rest.
Then, visit Fazenda Mironga, a Marajoara cheese factory where they produce the traditional Marajó cheese with buffalo milk, with the possibility of interacting with the buffaloes, followed by a tasting with cheeses, breads, tapiocas, juices, candies and herbs.
Accommodation for 3 nights, with breakfast.
DAY 4: MARAJÓ ISLAND
After breakfast, visit the Ateliê Arte Mangue Marajó, by contemporary artist Ronaldo Guedes, who creates pieces inspired by the Marajoara Culture and wood collected from beaches and mangroves. The activity includes a pottery workshop that provides a special connection with ancient culture.
Then, visit the Instituto Caruanas do Marajó, founded by writer and shaman Zeneida Lima, a place that houses a space for the production of copies and replicas of Marajoara plays and develops important social projects benefiting needy children in the region.
At high tide, transfer to Trapiche on the banks of the Paracauari River and board a regional motorized boat to Furo Miguelão, a river route between mangroves and Igapó forests. Free time for swimming.
At the end of the day, cultural activity with a carimbó wheel or a rehearsal of a group of Marajoara traditions, providing an immersion in the traditional rhythm of carimbó. Return to the hotel.
DAY 5: MARAJÓ ISLAND
After breakfast, cross the Paracauari River towards the municipality of Cachoeira do Arari. Selected drinks and snacks will be available on board.
Along the way, stops to observe the fields and birds characteristic of the region. Second ferry crossing and arrival at the Marajó Museum, which provides an immersion in the Marajoara culture.
Stop for lunch (without drinks) in Vila de Joanes and free time to rest or take a dive in Marajó Bay.
Finally, visit the ruins of the Pedra e Cal church, possibly built by indigenous people and Capucho priests from Santo Antônio. At the end of the day, observe the panoramic view of Marajó Bay from the natural viewpoint over the cliff.
Return to the hotel.
DAY 6: MARAJÓ ISLAND - BELÉM
After breakfast, drive to the São Jerônica extractive farm, in the Soure Marine Extractive Reserve area, for a Marajoara experience with buffalo riding in the water and hiking among the mangroves.
Return for check-out. Regular transfer to the port and board the ferry, bound for Belém.
Arrival in Belém, transfer to the hotel and accommodation for 1 night, with breakfast.
DAY 7: BELÉM - SANTARÉM - ALTER DO CHÃO
Breakfast and hotel check-out. Private transfer to Belém airport to board a flight to Santarém.
Arrival and transfer of about 35 minutes to the hotel in Alter do Chão. Accommodation for 4 nights, with breakfast.
Note: It is recommended to book flights starting at noon.
DAY 8: ALTER DO CHÃO - GREEN LAKE - PONTA DO JARI - PONTA DE PEDRAS - BLACK LAKE - ALTER DO CHÃO
After breakfast at the hotel, I meet with the local representative for experiences that provide a deep connection with nature.
Private motor boat tour of Lago Verde, an area of great natural beauty. Then, visit Canal do Jari, where you can observe wildlife, including sloths, monkeys, iguanas, porpoises, and exotic birds.
Contemplation of the Royal Victories before heading to Ponta de Pedras and free time for swimming or rest. Stop for lunch (without drinks).
In the afternoon, visit Black Lake, known for its crystal clear waters, ideal for diving. Finally, stop at Cururu to enjoy the sunset. Return to the hotel.
DAY 9: ALTER DO CHÃO - JAMARAQUÁ COMMUNITY - ALTER DO CHÃO
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to visit the picturesque Jamaraquá Community, in the heart of the Tapajós National Forest, to learn about sustainable forest management practices and the production of ecological leather from latex. On the way, stop to observe the beaches of Pindobal or Aramanai.
In the afternoon, visit the beaches of Cajutuba for a river bath.
DAY 10: ALTER DO CHÃO
Breakfast at the hotel. Free day for independent activities.
Suggested optional activities (not included):
- Love Island Tour;
- Ecological trails in the Tapajós National Forest or Morro da Piraoca;
- Visit to the local handicraft market;
- Canoe ride on the Tapajós River or Stand-Up Paddle (SUP) activity;
- Tasting of local cuisine.
11TH DAY: ALTER DO CHÃO - SANTARÉM/MANAUS - NOVO AIRÃO
Breakfast and hotel check-out. Private transfer of about 1 hour to Santarém airport to board a flight to Manaus (flight not included).
Arrival and regular transfer to Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge, at the times established by the hotel (about 3 hours by car or van). Accommodation for 3 nights, with full board.
After dinner, departure for a regular Night Focus tour, carried out through the Rio Negro in motorized canoes, with the possibility of spotting small alligators (or other nocturnal animals such as sloths, snakes, frogs and nocturnal birds) through the guides. Return to the lodge.
Note: It is recommended to book flights for late in the morning.
DAY 12 AND 13: NOVO AIRÃO Free
days to enjoy the lodge's facilities.
Activities offered by the lodge:
- Canoe ride through Igand Igarapés, paddling among trees and rivers, enjoying the sounds and the landscape;
- Motorized canoe ride along the Rio Negro to visit the local cabloca community, in order to learn about their way of life, the cultivation of traditional agricultural species and their social organization;
- Presentation of indigenous customs and way of life, such as archery techniques and practice, with original artifacts from the Waimiri-Atroari ethnic group in search of practice and technique to hit the target and aim;
- Terra Firme Forest Trail, led by experienced local guides, while learning about trees, fruits and berries, survival guidelines, and medicinal herbs.
DAY 14: NOVO AIRÃO - MANAUS
Breakfast and check-out from the lodge. Regular shuttle at pre-established times to Manaus airport.
