Romania

A region of legends and unique beauty

Away from the spotlight of Europe's major tourist destinations, Romania is one of the most notable countries in Eastern Europe.

Romanians preserve their strong culture, which can be seen in the cuisine or in the historical attractions that attract travelers. Legends and stories are part of that mystery culture that most people usually associate Romania with, with personalities such as the dictator Vlad III and the character Count Dracula, there are legends and stories to be discovered by everyone.

Touristic spots

Bucharest

Like other capitals in Europe, Bucharest is a city where you see the past and the present in perfect harmony. Historic buildings and cultural movements spread around the city, which develops every day.

What to do in Bucharest

  • Bucharest is a city of beautiful parks and it's worth taking the time to visit. Gradina Cismigiu is the oldest (and also popular) public garden in Bucharest and can be seen as an oasis in the middle of the city. In addition, the city's botanical garden is one of the best in the country and features the varied local flora.
  • Discovering local cuisine is something that must be taken into account on any trip, and Bucharest would be no different. Romanian cuisine has delicious dishes and one of the most recommended restaurants for tourists is the traditional Caru' cu Bere.
  • Bucharest's nightlife is quite bustling. There are pubs and restaurants scattered throughout the city, where travelers can take the opportunity to have more interaction with local residents.

Brasov

Impressive gates and Gothic spires and medieval watchtowers are still part of Brasov's scenery. Amidst these buildings, baroque churches and other historic buildings shine through the city.
Like all of Romania, Brasov is surrounded by legends, such as the flirts of Vlad the Impaler or the revival of the Hamelin Pied Piper.

What to do in Brasov

  • Due to its proximity, Brasov is often a starting point for a visit to Bran Castle, home of the famous Count Dracula. Located high on a hill, the castle houses a collection of royal art and decoration objects. At the end of the visit, a medieval village is open for visitors.
  • Peles Castle is located in Sinaia, but is easy to get around from Brasov. With its Renaissance-German architecture, many consider it the most interesting castle in Transylvania.
  • In the heart of the city, Sfatului Square is triangular in shape and is surrounded by medieval houses. With benches and other traditional elements of a plaza, it's ideal for sitting down for an afternoon and observing the natural movement of the city.
