History and Tradition
Independent since 1991, Georgia is a sovereign country in the Caucasus region. It is located between the extreme east of Europe and the extreme west of Asia and has experienced good political and economic development since the peaceful Pink Revolution in 2003.

Tbilisi

What to do in Tbilisi
- A tour of the old city is a dive into Georgian history. Among the main attractions are Fort Narikala, Mother Georgia, and the botanic garden, which is especially beautiful in the fall months.
- Tbilisi means “hot place”. The was given to the city for offering natural hot springs.
The traditional bathrooms can be identified by the brick domes that rise from the floor. Inside the houses, sulphurous baths and massages are offered, which can be booked separately. - There's a remnant of Art Nouveau architecture hidden around the city. With over 2,000 years of history, Telavi was built by Kaketetian kings, Russian and Roman tsars, and Georgian monarchs, giving the city a diverse and culturally rich architectural collection.
What to do in Telavi
- The Alaverdi Cathedral is the tallest in Georgia and is located in the Alazani River valley, 18 km from Telavi. Its height of 50 meters stands out against the beautiful landscape of the valley, which is set against the backdrop of the Caucasus Mountains. Inside the imposing building there is a gallery open to visitors.
- Telavi is the perfect region for exploring Georgian wines. While visiting a local winery, you can learn about the traditional Georgian manufacturing process, in which clay bottles are buried underground so that the fermentation process takes place naturally.
Mtskheta
Viewed by many as the spiritual capital of Georgia, it was in Mtskheta that Christianity was proclaimed as the country's official religion and continues to function today as the headquarters of the Georgian Orthodox Church.
In addition to its historical importance, the city unites several scattered monuments that earned it the title of UNESCO Cultural Heritage in 1994.
What to do in Mtskheta
- Because it is located at the top of a gorge, on one side the Jvari Monastery overlooks the meeting of the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers, and on the other it overlooks the city. It is considered by Georgians to be a sacred place.
- The Svetitskhoveli Cathedral is arguably the best known in Georgia and its glorious architecture has placed it on the list of Cultural Heritage Sites at Unesco. It is believed that a robe of Jesus is buried inside the Cathedral, making it sacred for the faithful.
