Bear and Marine Life Watching at Knight Inlet Lodge
Southern Great Bear Forest
Day 1: Campbell River
Arrival in Campbell River, a coastal city on the east coast of Vancouver Island, and self-introduction to the hotel. Accommodation for 1 night, with breakfast.
Free day for independent activities.
Note: Upon check-in, the passenger must reconfirm the departure time of the seaplane the following day.
Day 2: CAMPBELL RIVER/GREAT BEAR RAINFOREST
Early in the morning, after breakfast, transfer to the seaplane base for boarding an approximately 45-minute flight to Knight Inlet Lodge.
Accommodation for 4 nights, with full board (excluding drinks).
Upon arrival, guidance on the activities that will be carried out throughout the stay. Then, boat ride on an estuary (a transitional aquatic environment between a river and the sea).
Day 3 to 5: GREAT BEAR RAINFOREST
Breakfast, lunch and dinner at the lodge (excluding drinks).
Available activities organized by the lodge:
- Two excursions to strategic bear observation areas (including transfers, during spring and summer the observation will be carried out on boats and during the fall on a panoramic platform);
- Panoramic boat ride;
- Kayak tour and interpretive hikes in Glendale Cove;
- Full day tour to Johnstone Strait to observe marine life;
- Interpretive wildlife tracking tour;
- Interpretive forest walk through the Kwalate River Valley.
DAY 6: GREAT BEAR RAINFOREST/CAMPBELL RIVER
Before checking out at the hotel, there is an opportunity to take a boat trip with a bear-watching experience.
Return to the lodge and check out. Transfer to the seaplane base and to board a flight to Campbell River.
THIS ITINERARY INCLUDES:
- Accommodation for 1 night in Campbell River, with breakfast;
- Accommodation for 4 nights in Great Bear Rainforest, with full board;
- Seaplane transfers between Campbell River/Great Bear Forest/Campbell River -- Baggage allowance: 1 flexible suitcase, weighing up to 14 kg (excess luggage can be stored at the seaplane terminal in Campbell River at no additional cost);
- Regular daily activities organized by the lodge (in a group of no more than 8 people or up to 12 for whale watching);
- Travel kit.
