Package of 14 days to discover the temples and shrines that share the landscape with modern centers of the main cities in Japan. Opportunity to discover natural beauty on a spiritual journey, following the Kumano Way.
DAY 1: KANSAI OR ITAMI - KYOTO
Arrival at Kansai or Itami International Airport. After going through immigration and customs, reception and regular transfer to the hotel with assistance in Spanish. Accommodation in Kyoto for 3 nights, with breakfast.
DAY 2: KYOTO
Breakfast at the hotel. Around 8 am, meet the guide at the lobby and tour of Kyoto city.
Visit the Sanjusangen-do Temple, with the largest wooden structure in Japan (120 m), famous for its 1001 statues of Kannon, the goddess of mercy, and Nijo Castle, surrounded by stunning gardens. Stroll to Kinkakuji Temple (Golden Pavilion), a gold-plated building that was originally built as a retirement home for the Shogun. Continuation of the tour to Tenryuji Temple and the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove.
DAY 3: KYOTO
Breakfast at the hotel and free day for independent activities.
Optional activity suggestion (not included):
- Guided tour in Spanish to Nara, to visit the Todai-ji Temple, with the enormous image of the Buddha and the Sacred Deer Park. Continue to the Fushimi Inari Shrine with its thousands of red Toriis that mark the path to the hill where the sanctuary is located.
DAY 4: KYOTO - HIMEJI - KURASHIKI - HIROSHIMA
Breakfast and check-out at the hotel. Early in the morning, unpack your bags bound for Hiroshima. Around 7:30am, meeting at the hotel lobby and regular transfer with accompaniment in Spanish to Kyoto station. Embark to Himeji by bullet train.
Arrival and visit Himeji Castle, a complex with 82 wooden buildings, which stands out for its bright white exterior. Drive to Kurashiki. Lunch at a local restaurant (included, no drinks). Visit the Ohashi Family residence and tour the historic Bikan neighborhood.
After the visit, transfer to Hiroshima and accommodation for 2 nights, with breakfast.
Note: Before checking out at the hotel in Kyoto in the morning, the bags (only 1 suitcase of 23 kg per person) will be sent to Hiroshima and will arrive the next day. During the first night, it will be possible to carry only one small suitcase.
DAY 5: HIROSHIMA
After breakfast at the hotel, around 9 am, meet the guide in the hotel lobby and tour of the city of Hiroshima.
Visit the Peace Memorial Park with its museum, the Atomic Bomb Dome and the Itsukushima Shinto Shrine, famous for its “torii” gate in the sea.
6TH DAY: HIROSHIMA - MT. KOYA
Breakfast and check-out at the hotel. Early in the morning, drop off your bags bound for Osaka. Around 7:50am, meeting at the hotel lobby and regular transfer with accompaniment in Spanish to Hiroshima station. Embark to Shin-Osaka by bullet train.
After arriving in Shin-Osaka, continue the trip to Koyasan by road with a stop for lunch at a local restaurant (included, without drinks). Arrival and tour of Mount Koya, considered a sacred mountain, to visit the Kongobuji Temple, known as the Diamond Mountain temple, the Danjo Garan Buddhist temple and the Okunoin Temple, mausoleum of Kobo Daishi, founder of Shingon Buddhism. Transfer and accommodation in Shukubo in Koyasan for 1 night, with breakfast and vegetarian dinner in traditional Japanese style.
“Shukubo” is a monastery and prayer place with walls of sliding doors and a shared bathroom/shower. Meals are served on tatami (Japanese-style flooring), also a place where you will spend the night (Japanese-style bed).
Note: After checking out in the morning, the bags (only 1 suitcase of 23 kg per person) will be sent to Osaka. During the period in Koyasan and Tanabe, it will be possible to carry only one small suitcase.
7TH DAY: MT. KOYA - KUMANO - KAWAYU ONSEN
Early in the morning, possibility to participate in the temple's religious events. Then return to enjoy a traditional Japanese-style vegetarian breakfast and check out.
Meeting at the hotel lobby and regular transfer with Spanish language accompaniment by road to the sacred region of Kumano. Lunch at a local restaurant (included, without drinks) and a walk of about 3 km along the ancient Kumano Kodo pilgrimage route. Continuation of the tour to the Kumano Hongu Taisha Shrine and Oyunohara, to discover the best-known territory on the pilgrimage route.
Transfer to Kawatu Onsen and accommodation for 1 night in a ryokan, with breakfast and dinner (excluding drinks).
DAY 8: KAWAYU ONSEN - OSAKA
Breakfast and check-out at the ryokan. Meeting at the ryokan lobby and regular transfer with Spanish accompaniment to Osaka. Arrival and city tour. Visit the Umeda Sky building, to visit the “Floating Garden” Observatory and tour the gastronomic district of Dotonbori.
Considered the historic commercial capital of Japan, Osaka is the third largest metropolis in the country and has been the economic focus of the Kansai region for the past few years. The city is also famous for its local cuisine, its famous aquarium, arcades and shopping malls, in addition to the well-known Universal Studios amusement park.
After the visit, transfer to the hotel and accommodation for 1 night, with breakfast.
DAY 9: OSAKA - KANAZAWA
Breakfast and check-out at the hotel. Early in the morning, unpack your bags to Kanazawa. Meeting at the hotel lobby and regular transfer with accompaniment in Spanish to Osaka station. Take an express train to Kanazawa.
Upon arrival, guided tour in Spanish through the city's main attractions, such as the Kenroku-en Garden, one of the most famous in Japan, the Omicho Market, the Higashi Chaya-ga i district and the Nagamachi district, with a visit to the home of a Nomura samurai family.
After the visit, transfer to the hotel in Kanazawa and accommodation for 1 night, with breakfast.

DAY 10: KANAZAWA - SHIRAKAWAGO - TAKAYAMA
Breakfast and check-out at the hotel. Around 8:30am, meeting at the hotel lobby for a guided tour in Spanish to Shirakawa-Go, one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, with its famous old wooden houses covered with several layers of straw, known as “Gassho-Zukuri”.
Continue to Takayama and stop for lunch at a local restaurant (included, without drinks). Tour the Yatai Kaikan, an exhibition of traditional allegorical cars used at the Takayama Festival, and the historic area of Kami Sannomachi, with souvenir shops and sake cellars.
After the visit, transfer to the hotel for accommodation for 1 night, with breakfast and dinner (without drinks).
DAY 11: TAKAYAMA - NAGOYA - HAKONE - TOKYO
Breakfast and check-out at the hotel. Around 8:30am, meeting at the hotel lobby and regular transfer with Spanish accompaniment to Nagoya for boarding to Odawara by bullet train. Continuation of the trip to Hakone and lunch at a local restaurant (included, without drinks).
In the afternoon, tour Hakone National Park to embark on a mini cruise across Lake Ashi, with a view of Mount Fuji (weather permitting) and cable car ride to Mount Komagatake.
After the visit, regular transfer to Tokyo and accommodation for 3 nights, with breakfast.
Tokyo is a city of contrasts. Famous for its pioneering modernity, iconic neon landscapes, and tall skyscrapers, it is dotted with adored parks, shrines, temples, and gardens, further distinguishing its ancient heritage evident in the temples and shrines scattered and distant from energetic centers.
Note: tours are subject to change due to weather conditions/force majeure.
DAY 12: TOKYO
After breakfast at the hotel, meeting in the lobby and accompanied tour in Spanish to visit the Tokyo Tower and the Asakusa Kannon Temple, the oldest in Tokyo, with Nakamise shopping street and panoramic bus tour of the main attractions of Tokyo.
Lunch at a local restaurant (without drinks) and return to the hotel on your own.
DAY 13: TOKYO
Breakfast at the hotel and free day for independent activities.
Suggested optional activity (not included):
- Guided tour in Spanish to Nikko, to visit the Sanctuaries and the Kegon waterfall, including lunch (without drinks).
DAY 14: TOKYO
Breakfast and check-out. Regular shuttle to Narita or Haneda International Airport, with assistance in Spanish.
