Trekking in Lençóis Maranhenses with Casas OIÁ

Day 1: SÃO LUÍS - ATINS
Arrival in São Luís. At São Luís International Airport - Marechal Cunha Machado, meeting with the host OIÁ. Ground transfer of about 4 hours to Barreirinhas. Depending on the flight's arrival time, it includes a stop for a meal (not included).
Continuation of the speedboat ride along the Preguiças River, sailing for about an hour among the mangroves of aerial roots. The intense green of the banks contrasts with the imaginary of the dunes and already arouses curiosity for what lies ahead.
At dusk, on the banks of the river, it is possible to observe the flying of guarás, birds that color the sky as they seek refuge for the night. The scenery changes every moment, with the sunset lights blending with the red of the birds and the gold of the sand.
Accommodation for 2 nights in OIÁ Pop Up Atins, with full board.
OIÁ Pop-Up Atins is a seasonal experience (June to September) in Lençóis Maranhenses, combining hiking, culture and hospitality. Inspired by OIÁ Casa Lençóis, it offers comfort and careful service in harmony with the territory. A unique experience, with a Brazilian soul and temporary presence.
2nd day: ATINS - LENÇÓIS MARANHENSES NATIONAL PARK (PNLM) - atins Breakfast at the hotel.
Day dedicated to exploring the Atins region, according to traveler preferences.
The beginning of the 4x4 tour of the village is a moment of recognition and connection with the local rhythm. Then, departure for a quiet canoe across the stream, sailing through calm waters surrounded by native vegetation.
Lunch is served on a freshwater beach formed on the banks of the river, with typical regional cuisine.
In the late afternoon, visit the beach with the opportunity to contemplate the sunset.
Day 3: ATINS - Lençóis Maranhenses National Park (PNLM) - PATACAS
Breakfast at the hotel. Start of preparation for trekking and a 4WD ride to the first dunes. Possibility to dive in the lagoons and rest time before the adventure.
Lunch at a typical restaurant, inside the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park (PNLM), and from there, departure to Foz do Rio Negro, starting point of the trekking activity.
After approximately 3 hours of walking, stop for a picnic in the dunes, as the sun sets on the horizon.
The second stage, which lasts about 2 hours, takes place at night, when the weather becomes milder, with the possibility of stargazing.
At the end of the route, arrival in the southern region of the Park, with views of the native vegetation and the small and remote community of Patacas, an ideal refuge to rest after an intense and transformative day.
Accommodation for 1 night in Patacas, with breakfast.
Day 4: PATACAS - LENÇÓIS MARANHENSES NATIONAL PARK (PNLM) - SANTO AMARO
Regional breakfast and departure for the second day dedicated to trekking. This day's hike is lighter, about 10 km, approximately 3 hours with stops.
Start of the day at Rancharia, one of Lençóis's most iconic lagoons. During the trail, strategic breaks allow you to dive into the most isolated lagoons, where silence and nature dominate. On the way, stop for regional lunch.
In the afternoon, continue the trekking towards Lagoa das Emendadas, one of the most iconic settings in the Park.
Transfer to OIÁ Casa Lençóis and accommodation for 2 nights in Santo Amaro.
At the meeting with the host, the end of the journey is celebrated with a special candlelit dinner prepared by the OIÁ chef Casa Lençóis. The meal combines haute cuisine techniques with local ingredients, accompanied by a selection of wines.
Day 5: SANTO AMARO
Breakfast at the hotel. Free day to enjoy the activities offered by OIÁ Casa Lençóis.
It is possible to choose quadricycle, kayak, 4x4 or trekking itineraries combined with visits to local villages. There are quieter options such as a tent by the lagoon, with chairs, food and drinks for a moment of pure relaxation.
At OIÁ Casa Lençóis, in addition to comfort and tranquility, the eye is invited to explore the details of the design and the pieces of Brazilian art that make up the environments, revealing the cultural diversity of our country. All meals are included and, whenever the weather allows, they will be served outdoors.
6th day: SANTO AMARO - BARREIRINHAS - SÃO LUÍS
Breakfast and check-out. Private transfer from Santo Amaro, passing through Barreirinhas to São Luís International Airport - Marechal Cunha Machado.
