DAY 1: MUSCAT
Arrival in Muscat and private transfer to the hotel.
Accommodation for 3 nights, with breakfast.
Contemporary, low-rise Muscat offers its visitors the rare opportunity to witness a modern city existing and thriving in harmony with the structures of traditional culture. Nestled between rugged mountains and the ocean, Muscat, which means 'safe anchor', has a natural harbor that plays an instrumental role in daily life to this day.
DAY 2: MUSCAT
After breakfast, private half-day tour with English-speaking driver guide.
Visit the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, the largest mosque in the country, built with white sandstone. On the way to Muttrah, stop at the Royal Opera House for photos, an example of modern Omani architecture, followed by a stop at the Muttrah Fish Market, on the shores of the port.
Walk along the Corniche until you reach the Souq de Muttrah, one of the oldest markets in the Arab world. Then, visit the Bait Al Zubair Museum and stop for photos of the Al Alam Palace (entrance to the palace is prohibited).
Remarks:
- To visit the Mosque, men and women must be fully covered and remove their shoes when entering the prayer rooms. In addition, women must wear a headscarf;
- The Grand Mosque is open to visitors only from Saturday to Thursday from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
DAY 3: MUSCAT
Breakfast at the hotel. Regular dolphin-watching boat tour (subject to weather conditions), with selected beverages and snorkel equipment included.
There are different types of dolphin and whale sightings in Oman, the most commonly found species being the 'Rotating Dolphins'.
Sail to Bandar Khairan, where you will find sinuous fjords and secluded beaches teeming with marine life. It is possible to snorkel for 1 hour before returning to the Marina.
Rest of the day free for independent activities.
DAY 4: MUSCAT
After breakfast and check-out from the hotel, private transfer to Muscat airport.
