Wadis are dry riverbeds or small valleys. Some have crystal clear pools, others fruit plantations still cultivated today by locals who use the traditional Aflaj irrigation system.
The most popular wadis are:
- Wadi Shab: located at the South-Muscat coastal exit, it is easily accessible on a short boat ride. After a short walk, visitors arrive at the famous waterfall and crystal clear water pools, plus a partially submerged cave.
- Wadi Bani Khalid: it has a good flow of water all year round and can be visited in any season. There you can find natural pools, caves and mountains.
