Let yourself be taken to the enchanted land of Tolkien, stopping by locations from The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit movies.
DAY 1: AUCKLAND Upon arrival
in Auckland, reception and private transfer to the hotel. Accommodation for 3 nights.
DAY 2: AUCKLAND - HOBBITON - AUCKLAND Full day
tour to discover Hobbiton, where the Hobbit County scenes were filmed in The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit movies. You can see the 44 houses, the bridge, the Party Tree where the Hobbits party, and the famous bar The Green Dragon Inn. Includes lunch at The Green Dragon Inn.
Return to Auckland in the afternoon.
DAY 3: AUCKLAND Free
day for independent activities.
Optional activity suggestion (not included):
- Admission to the Weta Workshop Unleashed, for an activity of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to explore cinematic effects, as well as the science-fiction and fantasy worlds in creation. This venue also showcases the creative design and special effects process, similar to what was done for movies like “The Lord of the Rings” and “The Hobbit”.
DAY 4: AUCKLAND/NELSON
After checking out of the hotel, transfer to the airport and board a flight to Nelson. Upon arrival, private transfer to the hotel for accommodation for 3 nights.
DAY 5: NELSON Guided kayak
tour to the beaches and bays of Abel Tasman Park, with the possibility of spotting seals. After the explanation of safety procedures, it's time to discover the beautiful beaches, estuaries, and rivers in the park's most picturesque area, from Anchorage to Bark Bay.
Stop for lunch (not included) and free time to relax, explore, swim, or sunbathe. On the way back, if the wind is favorable, the kayak's sails will be hoisted and you can stop at Pinnacle Island to see the seal colony.
Back at Torrent Bay Lodge, time to cool off with a hot bath and return to the boat that takes you back to Kaiteriteri.

DAY 6: NELSON Free
day for independent activities.
Suggested optional activity (not included):
- Visit to Jens Hansen's jewelry store, responsible for producing The Ring original from the movie The Lord of the Rings. There it is possible to buy replicas of the rings used in the film.
- Scenic flight over Mt Richmond Forest Park, followed by a descent into the Wairau Valley in Marlborough, landing at a winery. The total experience lasts approximately 3 hours
DAY 7: NELSON/QUEENSTOWN Private
transfer to Nelson airport and board a flight to Queenstown. Upon arrival, private transfer to the hotel for accommodation for 4 nights.
DAY 8: QUEENSTOWN Scenic
safari with views of mountains and forest along the shoreline from Lake Wakatipu to Glenorchy and Paradise Valley. Visit the filming locations of Isengard, Ithilien, Lothlorien, Fanghorn Forest, the Battle of Amon Hen and others.
In the evening, presentation by the traveler at the Skyline Gondola for buffet dinner, with an incredible view of the city.
DAY 9: QUEENSTOWN - MILFORD SOUND - QUEENSTOWN
Transfer by bus passing the shore of Lake Wakatipu and the rural region of Te Anau. After a break, continue along the Alpine route of the Milford Highway.
Upon arrival, board the cruise to the fjords region. The boat passing through waterfalls, forests, mountains, and marine life. With luck, you can see seals, dolphins, and penguins. Highlight is Mitre Peak and Pembroke Glacier. An explanatory audio is available during the cruise. Buffet-style lunch is included.
Return to Queenstown by bus.
The return to Queenstown can be taken by twin-engine plane (optional and not included) to save time and be less tiring.

DAY 10: QUEENSTOWN
Transfer by bus to the Shotover River for a typical New Zealand tour. The jet boat was developed in the 1950s by New Zealand farmer William (Bill) Hamilton to allow navigation on the shallow rivers of Canterbury. Soon the potential as an adventure activity was realized. The tour takes you through narrow river gorges, almost grazing on rugged rocks, gliding across the surface of the water channels that meander the braided rivers.
Free afternoon for independent activities.
DAY 11: QUEENSTOWN - MOUNT COOK
Transfer by bus from Queenstown to Mount Cook. Arrival in Mount Cook for accommodation for 2 nights.
DAY 12: MOUNT COOK Free
day for independent activities.
Optional activity suggestion (not included):
- Guided Hooker Valley tour, with stunning views of some of New Zealand's highest peaks. This half-day hike covers a total of 4.5 km along a well-maintained trail, with beautiful landscapes of the south face of Aoraki Mount Cook and the surrounding glaciers and mountains.
DAY 13: MOUNT COOK - CHRISTCHURCH
Transfer by bus from Mount Cook to Christchurch. Accommodation in Christchurch for 1 night.
DAY 14: CHRISTCHURCH
Check-out at the hotel and private transfer to Christchurch airport.
