The Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge is a charming jungle hotel, located in front of the Anavilhanas National Park, on the banks of the Rio Negro. Located in a private preserved area of more than 1 million m², the hotel offers a unique experience of adventure, contemplation and learning in the heart of the Amazon Rainforest. DAY 1: MANAUS/NOVO AIRÃO - ANAVILHANAS JUNGLE LODGE
Transfer from Manaus to Novo Airão on a journey of approximately 3 hours (186 km). Check-in at Anavilhanas for accommodation for 3 nights, with full board and shared activities in small groups.
In the evening, tour to Night Focus. Evening forest tour, carried out along the Rio Negro in motorized canoes, exploring igapoes and creeks. Possibility to enjoy the stars, the sounds of the silvery night and spot small alligators (or other nocturnal animals such as sloths, snakes, frogs and night birds) through the bright light of the guides' flashlight. Return to the lodge.
Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge Accommodations:
- Chalets: 36 m² and a screened porch with hammock, ideal for spending hours listening to the sound of the forest. The chalets can be configured as a double, single or triple.
- Bungalows: 39 m² and strategically placed to listen to the sound of nature. The bungalows have glass walls, a balcony with a hammock and a bathtub to relax in. The bungalows can be configured for couples, singles, or triples.
- Panoramic: with 70 m², it is the largest accommodation in the lodge, with a large glass wall, a frame for the forest. The panoramic rooms have a cozy living room, bathtub and a balcony with forest views. While ideal for couples, they can also be configured as triples or quadruples, making them an excellent choice for families with young children.
2nd and 3rd DAY: NOVO AIRÃO
Days to take advantage of the activities offered and organized by the lodge. Anavilhanas experiences are carried out in small groups, with pre-determined departure times.
- Canoeing through the Igand Igarapés: in regional wooden canoes for up to 2 people. Rowing activity, among trees and rivers, enjoying the sounds and the landscape that opens up at every curve of the flooded forest.
- Visit to the local community: motorized canoe ride along the Rio Negro and visit to a local cabocla community, in order to learn about their way of life, the cultivation of traditional agricultural species and their social organization.
- Techniques and Practice with Bow and Arrow: a fun game with original artifacts from the Waimiri-Atroari ethnic group in search of practice and technique to hit the target and aim. Brief presentation of indigenous customs and way of life.
- Terra Firme Forest Trail: led by experienced local guides, hiking in the dry land forest. Knowledge about trees, fruits and berries, survival guidelines, and medicinal herbs are transferred to the traveler.
- Archipelago Recognition Tour in search of pink dolphins: the numerous channels, lakes and islands of one of the largest river archipelagos in the world are explored on regional boats, looking for pink dolphins. In drier seasons, disembark on one of the islands to contemplate the forest.
- Piranhas Recreational Fishing: a fun fishing trip through the region's creeks, with the opportunity to catch some piranhas and other fish while enjoying the surrounding landscape. During the dry season, from September to December, the water is warmer and the fish are more concentrated in the National Park, where fishing is not allowed. However, during this same period, it is possible to walk around the islands of the Anavilhanas Archipelago and get to know up close the differences in fauna and flora of the solid forest and the Igapó forest, characteristics of the Amazon Rainforest.
- Contemplation of the Sunrise: early, departure to the islands to contemplate the awakening of the Amazon, in a spectacle of colors, sounds and senses.
DAY 4: NOVO AIRÃO - Manaus
After breakfast and an activity organized by the lodge, check out at the hotel and transfer at a pre-established time of about 3 hours to Manaus.
