Mirante do Gavilhana is the perfect spot to observe the Rio Negro and the Anavilhana Archipelago, as well as being the base for diverse activities and a complete experience.
DAY 1: Manaus - Novo Airão
Transfer from Manaus to Novo Airão. Check-in at Mirante do Gavião for accommodation for 4 nights, with full board and shared activities in small groups.
The Mirante do Gaviao hotel has just 12 accommodations and is located 180 km from Manaus. The hotel has viewpoints facing the Anavilhanas Archipelago and National Park, facing the Rio Negro, and offers an authentic and unforgettable experience to its guests.
Accommodations:
- Tree House: cozy apartments with queen-size bed, air conditioning, minibar and private gazebo. Especially suggested for families.
- Luxury: large suites with king-size beds, air conditioning, minibar, open-concept shower and balconies with hammocks. They allow an extra bed for triple accommodation.
- Premium: the largest suites in the lodge. They have a king-size bed, open-concept shower with hot tub, air conditioning, minibar and large balconies with hammocks. Two extra beds are allowed for quadruple accommodation.
2nd to 4th DAY: NOVO AIRÃO
Days to take advantage of the activities offered and organized by the lodge.
The following activities are included during the stay - the order of the tours is defined upon arrival, according to logistics and weather conditions:
- Water trail: ride on speedboats, known as flying boats, that travel on rivers for a ride in the Anavilhanas National Park. Depending on the season, the scenario is completely different. Ideal for enjoying the beaches with light sand and dark waters during the dry season or, during the full season, when the forest is flooded and the trail is made between the treetops. Duration: part-time. Difficulty: easy and accessible.
- Sunset contemplation: fly to the best place among the islands to enjoy the silence, feel the peace and immerse yourself in the colors of the Amazon. Duration: on request. Difficulty: easy and accessible.
- Nocturnal animal watching: As soon as night comes, guests are taken by experienced guides for a flying tour in the Anavilhanas National Park in search of animals with nocturnal habits. To observe wild animals, it is necessary to be silent and follow the instinct of the guides who know the region and its secrets. There is the possibility of finding alligators by the river, sloths in the trees, and much more. Duration: 1h30 during the night shift. Difficulty: easy and accessible.
- “Be a local” - Amazonian art and education: tour of the city of Novo Airão to visit local initiatives for education, conservation and craft projects. Stopping points: Almerinda Malaquias Foundation (FAM), Floating Pink Botos, indigenous handicraft and biojewelry stores, Jirau Gallery. Duration: part-time. Difficulty: easy and accessible.
- Lodge leisure areas: at some moments during the trip, between the arrival of a tour and meals, it is possible to take advantage of the lodge's leisure areas. The deck on the Rio Negro invites guests to a delightful river bath, in addition to kayaks and stand-up paddles that are always available.
- Hawkeye Massage: the lodge's wellness area invites you to a relaxing massage, included in the package. Duration of 30 minutes - confirm time upon check-in.
- Giant tree and traditional riverside community: an interpretive trail ride in the mainland forest to discover the secrets of fauna and flora. Return from the trail and traditional lunch of grilled Amazonian fish at the caboclos' riverside house; a true experience with the community. The points to be visited vary depending on the time of the visit. Duration: full day. Difficulty: easy with a trail.
- Madadá Caves: rock formations in the middle of the forest, in a more remote region, rising up the Rio Negro. After breakfast, take a flight of approximately 1 hour. The Casa Rosa, in addition to a mini-museum about riverside life and old photos, is the starting point of the trail. In addition to the rock halls that are the main attraction, the trail that gives access to Madadá has several stopping points where guides unravel the secrets of the Amazonian fauna and flora. The interpretive trail lasts 1h30 (3 hours round trip) on flat terrain. After the hike, traditional caboclo lunch with roasted fish and rest in the bungalow. The points to be visited vary depending on the time of the visit. Duration: full day. Difficulty: intermediate with a long trail (3 hours).
- Cabocla canoeing: the Amazonian scenery changes completely during the drought/flood/flooding/flowing river seasons. Each season has its peculiarities and, depending on the season, it is possible to enjoy a different activity. The tour offers intense contact with nature and a day of enjoying the beauty of the forest, the river, the beaches and creeks. The points to be visited vary depending on the time of the visit. Duration: part-time. Difficulty: easy contemplative/canoeing with wooden paddles.
DAY 5: NOVO AIRÃO - Manaus
After breakfast and an activity organized by the lodge, check out at the hotel and transfer to Manaus about 2:30am.

- Ground transfers between Manaus/Novo Airão/Manaus;
