São João nos Lençóis Maranhenses

Day 1 (05/07/2026): SÃO LUÍS
Arrival at São Luís Airport, reception and private transfer for the group to the hotel. Accommodation for 1 night, with breakfast.

São Luís, the capital of Maranhão, is located on the Atlantic coast, between the bays of São Marcos and São José de Ribamar. The rest of the day is free for independent activities and exploration of the city.

In the evening, departure to Arraial do IPEM, a traditional venue for São Luís's June festivities, renowned for its cultural presentations and typical cuisine from Maranhão. At the venue, there are exhibitions of Bumba Meu Boi and other São João demonstrations, as well as stalls with regional dishes. Free time to experience the party. Return to the hotel at the end of the celebrations.


Day 2 (06/07/2026): SÃO LUÍS - SANTO AMARO
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, land transfer to Santo Amaro, covering 238 km (approximately 3h40) on paved road, with a snack stop (not included) in the city of Morros or Icatu.

Arrival in Santo Amaro and accommodation for 3 nights, with breakfast.

In the late afternoon, take a walk to the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park (PNLM), taking advantage of the milder climate to hike to the previously selected lagoons. After sunset, a cold plate with regional products is served on the banks of the lagoons.

Return to the hotel. At the beginning of the evening, there is the possibility of contemplating the starry sky and galaxies with the naked eye.


Day 3 (07/07/2026): Santo Amaro - Ponta Verde (Reflection Lagoon) - Santo Amaro
After breakfast, transfer to Povoado Ponta Verde. Part of the route takes place over the dunes, providing beautiful landscapes, since Santo Amaro is located near the entrance to the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park (PNLM). Then, walk through the vegetation to the village, known for the presence of fruit trees and native plants that keep the landscape always green and give rise to the name of the place.

There is a stop on site to choose lunch (not included). Then, the tour continues to the Reflection Lagoon, with free time for bathing and photographs. After the tour, return to the village, where the selected lunch awaits.

In the afternoon, the tour continues with a visit to the Ponta Verde circuit lagoons, where other bathing spots are available.

After sunset, return to Santo Amaro, with a brief stop to taste the traditional ice cream from the central square.


4th day (08/07/2026): Santo Amaro - Rancharia (Lagoa do Bicudo Gordo) - Santo Amaro Breakfast at the hotel.
Then, exit the inn in Santo Amaro towards the parking authorized by the ICMBio. The route follows the dunes, passing through several lagoons along the way. At a certain point, the vehicle descends and a short walk takes place to the place where a small boat drives across the stream to the other end.

Arrival to Lagoa do Bicudo Gordo, with free time for bathing and photographs. Free time for lunch (not included). There is the option of a local restaurant in Povoado Lavado do Maneco, which offers typical dishes from the region.

During the afternoon, the tour continues with a visit to new lagoons. Then, return to the vehicle and panoramic route to the selected spot to contemplate the sunset, before returning to Santo Amaro.

In the evening, go out for dinner (not included) at a local restaurant. The menu offers typical cuisine from Santo Amaro and the Lençóis Maranhenses region. Dishes based on fresh fish and seafood, traditional Maranhão recipes and local flavors prepared by residents make up the gastronomic experience.


5th day (09/07/2026): Santo Amaro - Barreirinhas - Brooms - Mandacaru - Revoada dos Guarás - Atins
Early in the morning, after breakfast and check-out at the hotel, transfer to Porto Caetés, on a journey of approximately 1h30 on paved road. Then, a flying speedboat ride across the Preguiças River to the coastal town of Atins. The route reveals banks full of palm trees and mangroves.

The first stop will be in Vassouras, in the APA dos Pequenos Lençóis. At this point, it is possible to taste fresh coconut water and observe the capuchin monkeys that inhabit the mangrove next to the freshwater beach (feeding them is not allowed).

Lunch (included) at Dona Graça's restaurant, renowned for the quality of its grilled fish.

In the afternoon, the tour continues along the river, passing through the villages of Espadarte, Morro do Boi and Moitas, famous for the beaches and dunes of Pequenos Lençóis, to the town of Mandacaru, with a visit to the Lighthouse.

Soon after, the speedboat leaves for Povoado Bar da Hora, where there is afternoon breakfast and observation of the impressive flight of the guarás. These birds, with crimson-red plumage as adults, walk slowly in shallow waters looking for crabs, of the Chama-Maré, Sarará and Maraquani species.

At dusk, after the sunrise and sunset, return to Atins.


6th day (10/07/2026): atins - canto do atins - atins Breakfast at the hotel
. In the morning, transfer to the Atins Beach Club, in Atins Beach. Dedicated morning at the Club for independent activities. The free period guarantees access to the sea and activities on the sand. Return to the hotel in the early afternoon.

Departure in 4x4 vehicles for the Canto do Atins Lagoas circuit. The route includes visits to the lagoons in better condition at the station, stops for swimming and photographs. At dusk, a picnic served during sunset enhances the landscape. Return to Atins.


7th day (11/07/2026): atins - Ponta do Mangue - atins
After breakfast, board a 4x4 vehicle to visit the Ponta do Mangue Lagoon Circuit, exploring the best lagoons of the season, with stops for swimming and photographs.

During the tour, lunch (not included) at the Carminha Restaurant, located in the town of Ponta do Mangue, on the edge of Lagoa do Mário. The restaurant offers typical dishes from the region, including shrimp and grilled fish, enjoyed with a view of the lagoon.

In the afternoon, time to rest in hammocks, before returning to Atins.

In the evening, departure for farewell dinner (not included) at a local restaurant to be defined.


8th day (12/07/2026): ATINS - BARREIRINHAS - SÃO LUÍS
Breakfast at the hotel and check-out. Private transfer for the group to the port of Atins and board a flying speedboat bound for Barreirinhas. Upon arrival, board a vehicle to return to São Luís, covering approximately 260 km in about 4 hours on a paved road.
